Also... Where do spiders come from??... it wasnt there yesterday, but there he is, sat in the bath! I cleaned that room, de-webbed and everything yesterday. DH says they climb up the plug hole? That cant be right there's water in there isnt there? like a trap thing to stop the smells from the drain? Do they have little tiny scuba gear? It's a big ole wolf spider too - will have to pop him outside, but I'm having me coffee first :)

I really hope its not that time of year again already :( They do come up the plugholes... I have sieve things in mine that are supposed to stop hair going down, but also stop spiders coming up. Or you can leave the plug in (its too heavy, they can't lift it) although they sometimes divert via the overflow. Given that sometimes they appear in the loo, I think they can swim underwater.
Yes they can swim underwater, yes they do divert via the overflow, and you'll never find a totally spider-free home, as they like the same sort of living conditions as we do.:o
    Remember:
    "Never harm a spider,
    Only seek to guide her;
Be kind and send her gently on her way"
:):):):):) OK, so I like spiders....... *shrugs*

Piggers well done on getting a list up at all, by the sound of it! We're all grown-ups here (well, mostly;)) and can sort out what we need to do - I'm going to do the 'puter desks to within an inch of their lives, and also get a start with the lounge (desks are in lounge btw) as Mr LW has invited his pal for beer and gaming tonight. I dare say he wants to show the pal our new DSi.:D

Here's how I stand at present, then I'll delete the stuff that doesn't need doing off my ongoing list.

I'm exhausted and emotional today - I'm debating, no hoovering, trashy movie and maybe popcorn cos I feel sick again and that's straight carbs? mebbe - who knows. (Saw a T-shirt yesterday that said "The baby wanted the chips, I had to eat them!" might have to get one :rotfl:)

Really do need to hoover the downstairs though... need.... motivation.... cant... get... off.. backside.
Meh! it was a valiant attempt! :D

    Popping in

Have just hoovered all rooms, dusted, cleaned bathroom and downstairs cloakroom. Washed up. ( All at my parent's home :)) Mum is still in hospital and wont be home for weeks :(

Just had lunch and wash up (My House) Off to have cuppa then to hospital visit.
  • HATES warranty companies...not had an oven since Boxing Day. They won't attempt a repair without a thermostat (for a dodgy on/off switch????) which they say is impossible to source from 'the manufacturer'. I have found one from another parts supplier - and a cheaper equivalent from Creda - but they won't get that one as it's against the rules. But they won't confirm that the oven needs to be replaced, as they would be able to repair it if they could get hold of the part. So I can't have an oven that works. They have 'no customer service department' 'no email system' (despite saying they would email a manager) and they can't do a thing about it. And the oven came from Howdens via the builder, so I don't have any legal rights, technically - the builder doesn't want to know, as he's been paid for it already.

[bangs head repeatedly against sh!tty piece of crap useless Howden's Lamona HJA3320 oven that won't work after 8 weeks and can't be fixed or replaced - just for any people doing a web search on the thing]

I'm going shopping. I may be some time.

    Oooooooooooooo

Why do I set myself the near impossible. Well the wardrobe is emptied of camping gear which has been shoved into another built in cupboard with my fishing gear (will need tidying too now) it was a shove it in and bang door shut job. All the boxes of books and folders and things are now on my desk/study floor it looks even messier now. Though the bookcase is in the wardrobe, after getting trapped between it, the wall, the desk and the chair I gave in moved the chair and tried again and succeeded in the mission.
I found lots of childhood books too so those will need sorting out and popping on the bookcase. Boxes of files and documents relating to loads of courses I have done so they need sorting and putting back maybe in the same place as all my document files. I also found a bag of shoes, a tv aerial and loads of old copies of national geographic so time to be brutal and throw/recycle/donate a lot there I think.

Oh well, lunch and a bit of procrastinating first I think..

Jojo, have a lovely time shopping and boo hiss to the stooopid oven suppliers etc. Makes you mad doesn't it.

Dancemum, sorry to hear about your mum being in hospital.

Paulies_nixie, I found ready salted crisps and rich tea biscuits helped when I was feeling sick. As for lacking motivation, how about doing something for 10 mins, then sit down for a bit and then try for another 10? When I'm feeling bleugh and can't be bothered that's what I do and it helps. Oh, and I'd definitely get that t-shirt (says she who craved gravy and chips with both pregnancies!)

LameWolf, new DSi eh! Very nice :)

Shysarah, how I'd love to sleep and not get up til 11.30! I did that when I was off long term sick in 2000 and I still remember how lovely it was! Let us know how you get on with the study and how sweet of your new man to buy you a cuddly penguin!

Ajmoney, ohhh, a spa day! You'll love it, I'm well overdue one of those myself ;)

Helen, what bad luck you're having (((hugs))). Bet you're both :mad::mad:. Hopefully he'll feel better soon and can do the job for you. Grrrrrrrr.

Pigpen, sorry you're feeling miserable, we all get carppy days sometimes. Hope you feel better soon - I'd prescribe a nice cup of tea and big bar of chocolate to make you feel better! Hope Freja has a nice long nap.

Natty68, good job the chap came to fix the leak by the sounds of it. I hope you're feeling better in yourself and not getting too dizzy, you must take it steady.

I had some great news today - went to see the GP who redid the mental health questionnaire with me. Out of 27, last time I got 20 which she said was very high but this time I got 4 :j:j:j. See, I said I was feeling better! OCD bothering me a bit at the moment instead but DH and me can work on that together and kick it into touch. To those of us who suffer from BD syndrome we CAN beat it, just need to keep going and keep trying and if the current meds aren't working see about changing - it's made all the difference to me.
