Options
Don't know if this has been posted, but i know things are tight for many of us and Sainsburys have a weekly meal plan that comes to a total of £20 (well it's only monday-friday so not really a week)

Mostly things we'd suggest to any one who was trying to feed on a small buget but thought i'd post it any way.

That's a stroke of advertising genius really, even if it is actually quite useful for some people who won't have discovered MSE and will be starting from scratch. I'm sure most of us could do it cheaper though.

    thanks for the post
  • I think its a great idea for people who have never menu planned or even shopped with a grocery list - actually I really like this plan as we would eat all the dishes - might even try it myself but as we don't have a Sainsburys near us would have to try it with Asda ingredients
Kondo'ed 76 items from wardrobe, 4 carrier bags of books
  • We had the thai chicken curry last night - i dont normally use jars and never make curry (usually our takeaway treat) but it was ok - had to add some more spices and we had some stir fry veggies (whoopsied 10p!) with it. Was good enough for a quick dinner.

I like the plan - things we would normally eat, good marketing from sainsburys but nothing new to us!
  • I think it is a great idea congratulations Sainsbury's. It would be better if they had done 7 days, but maybe it will make people realise what they can do.
  • Good idea for them to promote this, and I don't mind the 5 day menu. While I write out a full 7 day plan each week, 2 of those meals are always the same (Sunday roast and a soup night) so I really only need to think about 5 other meals. But because it's a family plan and there's only 2 of us, it's actually 10 meals for £20 for us. Not too bad!
