Odyssey Parking BE WARNED

Hi,

Just thought I would share what happened there today to save some of you some money! We were at the odyssey today to take our little one to the pictures for the £1 kids club. We were parking in the car park and had just got out of the car when a parking attendant came over to me and explained that I was liable for a £100 yes £100 fine has I was over the white line in the parking bay!

Now before everybody shouts at me for taking 2 spaces I didn't I
hate that as much as the next person. I had parked at the end of a row were there was no parking space on the other side, the reason I do this is I drive a 3 door with very long doors and you always get someone who parks so close you can't get your door open enough to get in, hence I always park, may it be the furtherest away space, at the end of a row so I am not taking 2 parking spaces as that cracks me up! Ok so rant over :rotfl:

So be warned if you are not the best at parking or must take 2 spaces be expected to pay a hefty £100 for it. The parking attendant pointed out the signs but honestly who reads them in a car park, they usually waffle about how they are not resposable for theft/damage!

Oh and Im sorry for ranting at the parking attendant but was a bad start to the morning!!

Don't pay it!! This sort of issue has been discussed on MSE before. See this thread HERE

I should imagine that if you go to the motoring section of the Play & Home bit of these forums and have a look through you'll probably find other threads to support you. £100 is an utter rip off. Don't pay!!!

No, I opened the thread when the OP had posted and no-one else, read some other threads, web stuff ect then came back to it and posted. I then saw that the OP had posted that they hadn't paid, but hey-ho, my aim was to post something useful to the OP.

Yours on the other had was for what purpose?
