  • Here is their reply:-

Sorry about this. Can you please send the item back by Royal Mail standard Delivery to:-

    [Address]

We will refund you the postage and send the correct item.

    Thanks
    ----

I personally dont have time to repack the item, go out of my way to send back an item, and then HOPE they send my ACTUAL ORDER and refund the postage that I spend on returning his item.

    Any suggestions?

If it was me I would find out how much it was going to cost to return the item & ask the seller to send you that cost before you post the item back.
Doing it that way means if they do not send you the correct goods you can do a chargeback for items not received....& you will not lose out financially

Whichever way you do it surely you have got to go to the trouble of sending the incorrect item back????

Sure - I want to get rid of it ASAP! But I need my item fast and I want them to reinburse me 1st.

Will email them after I have checked how much it will cost to send
  • UPDATE.

They have replied: (I asked them to send me the correct item/postage costs for me to return the incorrect item)

    ---

I am sorry I could not. I should recieve the return and then send the correct one. That is one of my company rules.
That is not your mistake, but I have many examples for not returning even recieving the replacement or correct one. You could make dispute to ebay or paypal to ask money but I can not so I have to get the wrong tap before sending the right one. please understand me and,

    Apologize for any inconvenience.
  • I dont want to create any dispute.

But Im not sending back an item that will cost £13.00 to return - and not have my money/my item/reimbursed costs in hand at the time.

    Am I being unreasonable?

How should I reply? Should I just say 'FORGET IT' and buy another item elsewhere and resell the incorrect item???

You could forget it and try and sell it on ebay. But if you want to get your money back and get another one you would have to either do a dispute - in which case they would ask you to return the item at your expense - or return it at your expense anyway and get the seller to reimburse you when it has been sent back.

  • Like I said, I dont want o raise a dispute - I am just going to email him and say forget it. Just like he doesnt trust me, I dont trust him. He has my money. I have his item - if he wants it back, he can send me the cash + repackaging costs + my handlling charge.

If not - he can keep my money and I'll keep his item.

No offence, but yes you are being unreasonable. By now you could have posted it, and be near to them posting you the correct item.
What do you expect them to do? Drive over and pack it up for you?
You have time to browse the forum. No doubt you could have put it back in the box and sent it by then.

And I wouldnt pay the return postage before a buyer returned an item (Not that I have had to tho) because for all he knows you could be trying it on to get another free £16, with no intention of returning it.

Look at it from that side of things.

Mistakes happen. Be a good citizen and return the item. He will then send you the correct one. 1 day the boot will be on the other foot and you will hope for a helpful buyer :)

    Just my opinion of course
    Be nice

I think the OP is being reasonable. For one thing they state they havent got time to package(it may be miles to the nearest post office, they may have a very small amount of free time) and return the item ,secondly the item they have is a more expensive item than the one they wanted.
If the seller wont send the return costs or anything else without his wrong item back again ,the OP has been honest enough to point it out when they need not have.
I would do what they have said they will do , buy from elsewhere and sell the wrong item.
  • I would email one more time stating, its your fault NOT my, why should you waste more of my time by no sending the item out to me with the postage cost of the wrong item. Company policy or not you make a mistake you should have the commen pleaness to look after your customers. That way you get nore business. But I can only see that all you care about is screwing me over.
But the_tired_one its really down to you what you do. I wish you luck :)
