Hi ladies & bumps
Am back from my jolly holidays, last one as a couple
17 weeks yesterday and had to go to hospital yesterday to give blood for downs and spina bifida checks, will know within the week if high risk or over 2 weeks if low. They weighed me and i have put on NOTHING :j was very pleased with this. Midwife said it's fine and to expect more weight to creep on. I'm starting to get quite the belly now, hubby is becoming very attentive towards it and often says hello to the bump before me
I've read back over the week i've missed and dont think anyone has mentioned Asda have their own brand newborn nappies on roll back. They were £3.55 a pack of 44 and they are now £1. Not sure how long it's going to last but worth getting a few packs.
Got my next midwife appointment next week, supposed to be at 16 weeks but this was the 1st appointment they could give me.
So i think everything is moving along ok at the minute, all fingers and toes crossed!0 -
We tried going to the canteen yesterday and having a drink and chocolate, I also had to go on all fours for a few minutes and wiggle about - baby was still in the same position when I was re-scanned 30 minutes later! Baby was quite happy curled in half and nothing we did was going to make them move!
Wow, I was told I'd got strictly 20 mins for the scan, and once I was in they weren't allowed to let me wander around, or walk up and down and try re-scanning! They were fine about it at the 12 week one, where I went back in 3 times before they finally got a decent result, so I'm not sure what the sudden change was, unless it was just that they were really busy that day.0 -
Thanks again for the lovely welcome ladies
It's a bit odd being the newbie again
Amanda I don't mind being stalked!Although I didn't think I was that interesting

thanks for all the well-wishes guys...
its another BOY!!!
quite apprehensive about it really - never had one of those before lol. But i guess our little family will really be complete come feb. will add myself to the gender list later.
welcome emsbet and janninew - hope your next scan shows a better behaved baby! good luck for tomoro gilly!
Ro - nappies - we started with a newborn bambino mio kit only which worked out well for us when DD was newborn - we had 6 wraps and 20 prefolds. I would say though they leaked a bit at night, so we moved on to totsbots with a wrap at night - the bamboo ones are best. Now she's older we use totsbots easyfits in the day, and totsbots bamboozles with a wrap at night as they fit her best. I would say the cloth has worked out great for us - she's so aware of her own body - we sign with her as well, and in the day she signs for the toilet when she needs it. She's been using the toilet for number 2s almost exclusively since 6 months. And now she also uses it 90% of the time for pees in the day. Any questions just ask! HTH0 -

It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,
I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together0 -
