Can anyone help, where to complain about a Job Centre staff member?

Is it in the remit of the person sorting out the crisis loan application to decide on the OP's mental state? The OP does not say what the 'cutting personal remarks' were. Could have been perfectly acceptable remarks that the OP in a distressed state took exception to. Why offer up a document that you didn't want the advisor to read? If I am handed a document i assume i am meant to read it.
What does the OP expect from the complaint?
All of us who have worked in front line roles have had malicious complaints made by people who simply don't get their own way. I wouldn't work in a job centre for all the tea in China.
Absolutely krisskross, I agree with your post and I too have had grief from some members of the public when I worked in a Local Housing Office, and to a much lesser extent when I worked in Town Planning. One guy came up to the counter, banged the glass and bawled (using disgusting language) that he hadn't got anywhere to mend his car. Another swore at me because the battery in the smoke alarm had run out  and was even more abusive when I pointed out that they had to replace it, it was not the Council's responsibility.
Now of course there is no reason to assume that the OP was abusive, but they said themselves that they were in a fragile mental state, so maybe they were over- sensitive to the advisor's questions.
And I agree it is not in the remit of the Jobcentre to assess peoples' mental state, nor to provide tea and biscuits whilst they await a decision.
However, if the advisor genuinely WAS abusive, then of course a complaint should be made. The OP should be be succinct and to the point and hand it in in writing to the office where the incident occurred.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Erm yes, that was over a month before and it was using money that was to buy myself christmas gifts from my gran who is too ill to go out. Totally irrelevant to the thread.....
And whoever asked why I don't just keep the children here, I am not going to break an interim court order ruining my chances at the residence hearing in March thanks very much.
Back on topic, I have sent off my complaint and await a standard response, not expecting much tbh. I'm currently at the third tier of escalation with a complaint about social services and they have been beyond useless when dealing with it.

I wouldn't bother to respond to the hostile people on this forum who are only here to undermine the already vulnerable. They've clearly got their own problems.
You will find that once you have dealt with this you'll feel more confident if anything similar happens in the future.
Smile sweetly and let them wave their ego at you, then politely ask for a complaints form, when you have that ask for their name, the ego will be shrivelling by this point, and there will be a record on the computer of who dealt with you if they refuse.
Then go on your way empowered
They don't care about tears or anger because they can turn that around to make you look bad but someone who methodically complains about them and deals with their shortcomings - that scares the carp out of them!
Round of applause, excellent post!!!Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -
Mm, a Christmas gift is generally for Christmas, which as far as I recall generally falls on the 25th December, so if you were ordering the teeth whitening kit for yourself on the 13th December, I am not really sure why you felt it necessary to pay an extra £6.95 for next day delivery so that you could have it by the 14th. In the other thread that I was referring to, you say that you are a regular purchaser of such kits, even if your granny did fund the Christmas one.0

OP don't feed the trolls, report it or ignore it. If you keep responding to this nonsense they'll feel empowered to break forum rules on other people's threads.0 -

Er, no I'm a regular user of Groupon. or at least was.
What I spend my money on has nothing to do with this matter, should people on benefits buy nothing but beans and sliced bread!? I am able to budget carefully but when the benefits office take over 6 weeks to process a simple change of circumstances I of course will run in to problems.Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -

Seconded, ignoring these sad forum parasites will hurt them far more than anything you could say or do
