How can it be abuse? She can't afford it which is stated quite clearly in the op so a solution is what I have offered. If you have a big car that you can no longer afford to run you sell it, I am just applying those same economic principles to the situation. By also getting a job the op can better provide for the existing family and will therefore be less of a burden on society. Just because you don't like an answer it doesn't make it abuse, at no point have I used bad language or made a racist comment.0

Hardly any of the people having kids can afford them in my opinion, so do you want to adopt 100,000 or so ?0

This section of MSE is where people go to find out what they are legally entitled to, if you so wish to discuss single mothers putting their child up for adoption rather than be supported by benefits please take that discussion over to DT and not here.Harry_Flashman wrote: »Why should those people who can't support their children breed? I'm sure that you cost the taxpayer as well at one point or another in your life - yet.....you are here! lol
I don't think people make an obvious choice to have children and live their live on benefits of any kind - well, okay, a few, but not the majority by any means. None of us know what is around the corner - today I'm working, next week I could be laid off, and fortunately for me, there is a system in place to ensure that my children can remain in a safe, warm, healthy environment provided with food and clothing to see them through. You'd have to be a pretty hard nosed b*stard to disallow a child the necessities of life in a time of need.0 -
I don't actually disagree with you on that.
But to get pregnant with no way to support the child? Is that in any way right?0 -
Why assume she got pregnant deliberately?0

The fact that she's keeping it?0

From the original post though, it looks like she actually had a partner (in fact, we know she did....unless it was the turkey baster!) and they have split up for whatever reason! She is in a home with a mortgage - and so I would think that there was some sense of financial security when she became pregnant.0 -
