mikey72, il agree to disagree with you, ive googled the question and im getting conflicting answers.
A few interesting points to note, if you drive the other car using your policy then it wont show up on an ANPR system, you wont be able to tax the car and if you leave it on a public highway then the car would be uninsured and if impounded would not be retrievable with your policy

I won't disagree with any of that.
I carry my policy with me if I drive another car, and wouldn't be surprised if I was stopped.
The problem is anyone (well your mum or dad) can tax the performance on a one day policy, then you can drive it for a year on the corsa insurance. Recently insurers have withdrawn the cover for anyone under 25, but it's still a cheap way to get a sports car on the road for a corsa price, even for older drivers. That's what this hopes to stop.
  • Another scheme to catch out the law abiding citizen while allowing the real criminals to carry on getting away with it.

From what i gather if its uninsured it must be SORN'd. You dont need insurance for something that is
    garaged.

So every car collector, garage must have insurance for every car, Can you see that working?

Im sure this was mentioned years ago, Cars much be taxed and insured at all times, But questions arose
what if a cars just a pile of bits waiting to be restored? Then SORN came in.

I agree any car not covered by a policy listing its registration number should be SORN, Cuts down on people
buying a high powered car they cannot afford to insure register it in the cats name then drive it under 3rd
party cover on their policy for a 1L micra.

No, that's not what it's saying. What it does say is that every car even if offroad must be sorned if uninsured ;)

No big deal for legitimate motorists is it.?? The more uninsured drivers that are nabbed the better in my view.

OP, you can obtain insurance for a car in storage, if it has any value. The garage could collapse, the car go up in smoke etc, oh hang on, it's a rover:o, ignore that advice.;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
