Topcashback seems like a total waste of time

Hi there,
After one of Martin's emails last year I registered with topcashback to do the equifax credit check thing. Since then I've tried to use it two other times with the following results:
1) Equifax
29/09/2010 ordered
06/10/2010 submitted "enquiry" because nothing tracked
20/10/2010ish tracks with "confirmed" status and payable date of 31/10/2010 (hahaha - as if)
No further updates - still at "confirmed"
2) Play.com
08/11/2010 ordered
20/11/2010 submitted "enquiry" because nothing tracked
enquiry status: "waiting for retailer"
no further updates
3) Orange
16/01/2011 ordered
17/01/2011 tracked (wahoo!) at half correct value
17/01/2011 submitted enquiry regarding tracked amount
enquiry status: "on ice"
no further updates (pending until 15th Feb)
So after four months and three orders, nothing has actually tracked correctly. I've had to chase all the orders, and still not a penny has appeared in my account.
I could have ordered more stuff through the site but I don't make many large online purchases, and given the track record so far - having to complete enquiry forms for every order - it certainly isn't worth it for anything less than a fiver in cashback.
How is this whole cashback game not just a massive waste of my time?
Tim

Thats a shame, I use them and quidco, since I lost a huge amount of money on rpoints since they went bust....apparently.
I'll keep an eye out on my cashback with them now, hope you get it resolved soon0 -
I've not had anything ever track with them either, but my step-dad got one of the £30 deals they had on for new mobile contracts no problem.
I guess it's hit and miss. I stick to Quidco now though!0 -
I have used Topcashback and have so far received over £80 in last 4 months.
Got cashback from Sheilas Wheels, House of Fraser, Banana Republic and Essential travel insurance.
Hope they all come good in the end.0 -
I love TCB and find it more reliable and quicker at tracking/paying than Quidco! I have accounts with both btw.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Interesting, nothing tracks for me on topcashback these days either, despite the test telling me everything is fine. I got bored having to submit enquiries so have gone back to quidco where magically everything seems to track (at the moment at least).:huh:0

Hi, if you follow ALL the advice given on Topcashback and Quidco you should have no problems. Firstly install a second browser ( Firefox) and use it purely for your purchases ,do all your searching through IE or whatever else you like. Secondly when you open firefox clear all your browsing history/cookies. If you are buying insurance always get a new quote and purchase from that, never from an existing quote.
In the last 18 months I have had £650 cashback from Topcashback and £1100 from Quidco with only one £4 failure so far, that is still waiting for retailer to reply.
Thirdly , be patient , sometimes it can be weeks before anything tracks and months before payment. Fourthly , take a note of the timescales for each retailer for entering enquiries.0 -
I have used topcashback for about 3 years i never had many problems till lately the last 3 items i have bought using topcashback have not tracked : ( i have saved the reciepts and submitted queries and am waiting for the outcome.0

sorry to hear youve had problems. I joined them a couple of months ago, have ordered a few things and received emails from Topchashback letting me know each one of them has been tracked, comfirmed by retailer etc , so my experience so far is very good. I know 3 people personally who have used them for some time and have had excellent experiences, so hope by taking the advice given about things will work out for you x0

Might be issues with your browser that are causing the tracking failures. Using an independent browser is a good idea, but making sure that your computer is running well is also useful. Make sure you don't have loads of browser windows open, regularly clear your history, cache and cookies and always make sure you're logged in and things should be fine.
I've made almost £200 in a few months from Top Cash Back, mostly by playing hedge bets on roulette, and I've actually come out with a cash profit on top of that too due to a couple of lucky wins on 0. I submitted two missing offers from over the Xmas season and one of them has just successfully tracked. The other is only for 50p, so I'm not too fussed if that doesn't work out.
I've had very limited success with maximiles on the other hand. I successfully used their site for the £50 amazon voucher scoop, but virtually nothing else has tracked on there, even just general purchases on Amazon.
Out of interest Keith1950, have your profits on Quidco came from general purchases or have you found good deals worth taking advantage of?0 -
Hi, a mixture of things, car insurance, house insurance, life insurance, mobile phone contracts, switching energy suppliers and general online purchases. I always find the best price first then look on Quidco and Topcashback to see if I can get cashback with that best price. In the past I have even received cashback on some items that were returned.0
