Wedding favours

Options
Can anyone tell me what sort of favours are popular nowadays please, or are they a bit out of date ?

Haven`t been to any wedding exhibitions for a while and have a sneaky feeling I might be asked to make some favours later this year.

Thanks for any info / help.

  • I've had champagne truffles at a couple of weddings I've been to. Not sure what the kids were given though!

A few people have mentioned iced biscuits, somethimes with the guests' names iced onto them to act as the placename as well.

Cupcakes in a jar have become quite popular too - like this.

What are you putting them in - bags / boxes ?

Last time I did this sort of thing I had to decorate small hats with lace, ribbon and tiny flowers and fill them with lavender seeds for one bride and the other wanted sugared almonds in tiny baskets tied around with netting and ribbons.

We're having mini heart shaped, lilac-coloured sugar coated chocolates, Mr and Mrs rock and some roses/quality street.
I've just got some lilac organza and some ribbon to wrap them up in.

  • We have decided that sugared almonds are a bit old hat and am already having a sweets table so have made a donation to Cancer Research and they provide a card to say a donations has been made on the guests behalf with a cancer research pin badge on. As it happens they have some cupcake pin badges which matches our theme!!!
