Give your mobile a fake number

Two thoughts if you want an additional number and don't want to give out your own number:
1. For a small fee per month from BT you can have a second number to your land line. It gives a different ring. Ideal if you work from home but don't want to take calls relating to that work say at evenings or weekends.
2. Purchase an 0870 number . They are about £10 one off fee and you get a cut form any calls made to that number. Ideal when filling in forms etc. If people phone up and want to sell you something, at least you have the satisfaction you are making money from them!!0 -

I see what this is about now, no I don't think it's spam, it's probably useful to some people.0

i just use a free o2 simcard with £2.50 credit on for mobile numbers if i have to and dont want to give my personal, i just keep swapping around or use an old fone and keep it at homeThings that are free in life are great, well most of the time :beer:0

Well I don't see why the particular firm should be that popular.
However much one dislikes the calls received, there isn't actually any point in choosing a service that costs 50p instead of 25p.
If people really want to have an 070 number, then they might as well get one that exploits a wider range of call forwarding possibilities, including free to foreign numbers too.0 -

Why would you be calling the number you have given out?
I did Google before posting and I saw what you have posted above (you really should add it's a quote from elsewhere unless you are SolCuerda). You do not give the numbers to friends and family so why you care how much it costs to call?
Damn sorry akabee i just realised the entire top part of my post has been chopped off!! I did have above my original post initially: 'Be mindful who you do give this too as i have found the following on another site!
So you dont wanna sting the wrong people with the calling costs! but its a good idea to give it to that Guy/Girl that just wont stop bugging you whilst out partying!
'
Sorry again akabee didnt mean it to sound like i was atacking your post!
And hanslope get a clue this post isnt spam but a legitamate service!0 -
get a free 02 sim and your sorted0

revenue sharing is now illegal. oftel didnt like the idea that we consumers could take a profit on cold calls but clearly dont mind companies doing this....0

Could I use this to validate my pigsback account as my mobile number has already been used by dh and we only have the one mobile?
would I have to pay anything to do this?
Cheers BD x0 -
just a thought but why get this, i mean if your diverting the call then they already know your number to start with or they wont be ringing it would they.0
