    majority of posters have said the megane is a decent car that is a 50/50 gamble as to whether it will be a lemon or a decent runner. being a selftought mechanic and worked in a motor factor, renault in general would be the car to avoid not the cheapest parts in the world allot of money for little or no extra's and as you've proved expensive insurance. take a tip from me, genuinly and ive advised this to everyone, the megane has little security. standard factory fit alarms and immobilisers dont get anywhere with insurance. get a thatchem category 1 or 2 alarm fitted to ANY vehicle you buy you will save on insurance, and go on his premium as named driver to bring it down further. MPG doesnt differ that much between 1.4 and 1.6.

    if you use it for work jakee your joing to have to have class 2 insurance SDPand commuting again another insurance hike.

    A Thatcham Cat 2 Alarm doesn't exist. Its an immobiliser. Alarms are either cat 1 or nothing. Cat 1 is for alarms, cat 2 for immobilisers.

    Hmm, good suggestion, but still its a little on the small side...

    With the amount of girls I have at once, maybe something like this would be more practicle http://dublinbusphotos.homestead.com/DublinBusImage.JPG

    But the 1.4 is the more reliable and therfore more desirable engine;)

    I've heard of dreaming big but you're hopeful now! And if you could fill that with women whats wrong with a normal car?

    it might be the licence for driving this where you'd come stuck

    Thread was ok but now Jakee has arrived :T not.
    I think you need a life more than a car.
    what was it;

    "Clothes do not maketh a man", anything ringing???

    Get a cheap car and get your insurance down. Once done your parents won't need to bail you out.

    Yes that's hard, and my parents helped me, but I had a 10 year old BSA, think yourself lucky, :cool::cool::cool:
