It won't change for Halifax.
The new T&Cs effective from 20/03/2011 still say that you need to pay money in by the end of the day to avoid interest or fees. If there was an earlier cut-off like LTSB have it would have to say so in there.0 -

You wait until you step into a branch though - the changes there will really make you feel as though you're back in the days before we had computers (or, equivalently, in a Lloyds TSB branch).
Got to agree with you here - manually filling in pay-in slips in order to (get this) - speed things up?!?
A very backwards step imoDF0 -
They have now implemented 'extra Security Checks' when you want to make payment to an existing payee within Halifax internet banking which involves them ringing you like Lloyds TSB internet banking.
2 passwords and telephone verification. Where is it going to end ?0 -

Are you sure you didn't use a PC other than your usual one? Which can give rise to an automated call :-

You do realise you can also use your debit card to deposit?
Only at the machine. Different branches are changing at different times, but you will soon need to fill in a form to do any counter transaction, even if you have your debit card on you.You can't even pay a BGC at Halifax at the moment!
Nope, they have a far more efficient method called BACS. You take the bill into the branch and they send it electronically directly from your account. No need to fuss around with bits of paper.
But, as been pointed out, another backwards step coming soon is that they'll accept BGCs. I have no idea what advantages BGCs have over manual bill payments.0 -

These are small points in the grand scheme of things when it comes to deciding which computer systems to use though. Although I no longer work in a Lloyds branch, the conversations I have had with my ex-colleagues after the buddy scheme where Halifax counter staff visited Lloyds branches to try the system out, have been that the H- staff were very positive and actually looking forward to the switch over. Of course there are some things that they would prefer to keep but I believe them to be more 'back office' things.
On the other hand the Mortgage Sales Platform used by Halifax is very good and far superior to the Lloyds one hence the switch in that particular area.0
