    The changes are:

In the coming weeks - new online banking will appear, as in the screenshots above.

March 2011 - new T&Cs take effect. Only a few small changes, e.g. when your URCA fee is taken out, cheque clearing time extended to bring it into line with LTSB.

The Halifax brand and accounts will remain exactly as they are. Lloyds TSB will change its name to Lloyds Bank, but all their accounts will remain as they are.
  • Hurrah! I've got the new look too :-) Does anyone know if Halifax faster payments are also going to be fixed (made more predictable) as part of these changes ?

The computer systems are being moved over onto lloyds in July, so they will act the same as TSB from then most likely.

Does this mean that the operation of my current account steps back nearly 10 years in time? And DDs due out on a Monday start being registered over the weekend??

For their relatively few faults ...... Halifax at least knows what a weekend is and that they exist. And that monetary time does not stand still after the overnight Batch run on a Fri night.

I guess this will be a yes afraid - With Lloyds TSB I know you have until 3:30 PM the next working day to pay enough money in your account before you get charged any fees, not sure if this will be the same with the Halifax though.

£1 of debt is too much for me!

Thought that was 3:30 the same day before charges are incurred?

No, I think it's 3.30pm on the same working day at Lloyds TSB. That's what I interpret their Charges leaflet to say.

This is much earlier than Halifax's cut-off time of midnight to avoid charges. I don't believe that this will change when they start using the Lloyds TSB system. I don't know whether LTSB customers will get an extension to midnight to match Halifax.

I would fully expect them to forget that weekends occur though.

You wait until you step into a branch though - the changes there will really make you feel as though you're back in the days before we had computers (or, equivalently, in a Lloyds TSB branch).
  • Sorry, I don't know why I put the next day it is the same day... Thank you! (Hides)

Don't know whether it will change to 3:30 at HBoS, haven;t had that much communicated yet....

Ooh, does that mean I'll be receiving a shiny new paying in book for my Halifax account? :rotfl:
