Do you have to be super skinny to wear a jump suit?

There are an awful lot of reduced jumpsuits around, makes me think they probably don't look that great on.I prefer this one out of the ones on the House of Fraser website:http://www.houseoffraser.co.uk/Therapy+Sparkle+one+shoulder+jumpsuit/144464077,default,pd.html
I agree this one would be more flattering:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0 -
You seem to have the impression that a size 16 must look like a bag of potatoes!
Not at all, as stated I was a size 16 once and I don't think I ever looked like a bag of spuds but a size 16 needs to wear clothes that are appropriate and flattering to their size presuming of course that they want to look and feel their best and the OP did ask for an honest opinion which is what I gave:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0 -
seeing it in the picture, i think that if your weight is on your bust, legs and hips, you will look good in it. if its on the stomach and arms, then no0

I like that one. Its very glamorous. The first one I think is better suited to skinny teenagers.0 -
Y'know, what I think is, no matter what size you are, you should try to dress with confidence. If you dress, look and feel confident, you can carry off many different styles.
Size 16 or 18 or 20+ is what it is (and I've been there and I know!). For goodness sake, size 16 at 5' 6" is not huge, you can dress to minimise your size, but you still look a curvy girl! So a jumpsuit, whilst not making your bum look like a size 10, can still be a flattering outfit. When you're a 16, your bum isn't going to look like a size 10 in boring black polyester trousers either, but nobody's going to say they're unsuitable!
OP isn't suggesting a mini dress with her boobs and bum hanging out, she's suggesting an outfit that is pretty well covered-up and showing off shoulders and maybe a glimpse of cleavage. OK so she won't look like a size 10, but she could look fun and fabulous in it as does the curvy model in this pic.

Fashion should be fun! You can be boring or brave, but within the realms of decency, I would say at least experiment and see!

Agree with the above- I have seen some very OTT outfits but worn with such energy that they look fantastic because the person wearing them "owns" the look.
But having said that, I don't think jumpsuits look good on anyone besides toddlers!0 -

I agree
I wore a jumpsuit first time round and although I look at them now and like them, I'm not sure I'm brave enough - my daughter would wear one though and she's not a skinny size 10! She'd look fab too.“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”

Honestly as a man, Jump suits are not particularly nice to start with so I'd said it would make someone of those proportions look like Phil Mitchell from the back.
Having said that, the one popular outfit that puzzles me is the one-piece, I saw a man of 40 wearing one the other day, it had a cow print on it! He looked a complete tool.0 -
As jumpsuits go I don't think the two pictured are bad at all. They almost look like trousers and top, both of the. However, my issue is that anyone over a size 10 doesn't look great in baggy tapered trousers that cling to the ankle.
It's my opinion that tall and slim works for those styles.
Loving that you asked the question though - you do see some sights out there as people wear whatever is the current fad regardless of their bodyshape.0 -

Im very tall, and very slim, and I actually tried on the jumpsuit that the OP linked to...
I looked like a giant fat baby in it.
Sorry OP, Im gonna go with a resounding 'no' here. You lied to me Edward. There IS a Swansea. And other places.....
