I think it depends on far more than clothes size. I'm quite little, but have long legs and a short body. Much as I would like a jumpsuit they just look terrible on me - I need a seperate top to give the illusion of a longer, leaner body. I can't wear strapless tops either. Try it on, take an honest friend with you if necessary, and if you like it then go ahead!0

I'm also tall and slim but when I see pictures of myself in the 1980s wearing one I cringe. I thought I looked quite good at the time!0

I agree it would depend more on body type then actual size. I'm around a 16 but am only 5ft1 and think one would just make me look stumpy
however a friend of mine is also a 16 but has a good 5/6 inches on me and I think she would probably pull it off quite well. Go and try it on and see what you think.

I think you need to be tall to wear a jumpsuit. If you're 5.10 and size 16 you'll probably look fine. But if you're 5.2 as podperson says you will probably look stumpy.
Though I think jumpsuits are very hard to wear generally...though it's always worth a try, you can return it if you don't like it!0 -
I think jumpsuits make anyone look like a sack of potatoes with a rope around the middle! Horrible thingsNoli nothis permittere te terere

Definitely easier to wear a jumpsuit if you're tall. Jumpsuits are like ponchos and capes for us small people - they make us look ridiculous.
Each to their own but even if I was tall I wouldn't be buying one. They remind me of Floella Benjamin, the Playschool presenter and Jane Fonda.4.30: conduct pigeon orchestra...0 -
Yes, I think size 16 would be too big for a jumpsuit, if you do decide to go ahead I would choose a tighter fitting one rather than too floaty and also not one that ties around the middle:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

Go and try it on and take your heels if it's for evening.
Height is important, I agree, but also body shape and if you are an evenly proportioned size 16 you could carry it off! Black is pretty forgiving too!
Which one is it? Can you post a link?0 -
I don't think they are a good look on anybody-sorry......0

Hmm, I think it would depend on your shape rather than size. If you really love it and it's a bargain - what about turning it into a playsuit. I think they are easier to pull off if you are short like me. I love my playsuit and find it more flattering than I would have thought.0
