I took out my car insurance through the Quidco Lloyds TSB - unfortunately it did not track therefore although I saved money on my renewal, I am £80 short on what I expected. I understand that the tracking has been fixed (according to the website) but you really need to keep an eye on it for deals like this where you are talking £120 cashback. I should say that Quidco were more than helpful chasing it up (and all for £5 in the year!) but they were stonewalled as well.

Wish i knew about quidco a few months back...
My Buildings and contents insurance through lloyds tsb was renewed about 2 months ago - is there anyway I can cancel this and then go through quidco to get the high referal rates?
without occuring a charge for cancelling the original policy?

    best regards

My (mum's) Lloyds home insurance tracked within 2 days, so well pleased.

Barclays (mine!!!!) taken out in June has ben queried but with no result, also sent an additional query to quidco but all they did was copy my email back to me:confused: . No hope now I suppose as house is sold.....:p

Now looking at car insurance, but cheapest quotes less cashback are still higher than eleswhere, but goes against the grain somehow......:p

  • Sorry if this is a silly question - looking for Home & Contents insurance. If I took out each seperately, would I get 2 lots of Quidco cashbacks, and would it then make a difference if each was with the same company.

I did get a provisional quote through Lloyds TSB's site, and the best quotes were for two different companies, neither of which was Lloyds TSB.

Also, if I were able to go the seperate home and contents route, would they pay out cashback of more than the premium paid (contents is only £84 a year).

    Cheers
  • Think i'm being a bit dense so sorry, my car insurance is due to expire mid december, so will start looking around shortly. When I went to the Quidco site, couldn't see any high paying cashback for car insurance, only for home insurance.
can anyone help me? many thanks Michelle:beer:

    Hi,

I renewed my car insurance on Tuesday. I had read this thread and was concerned about some of the companies not tracking or paying up. I decided to steer clear of Barclays because of poor tracking. (I did check anyway and the quote was not competetive). I was with LLoyds TSB last year and they now want me to have a tracker fitted to the car, so extra cost here. So I went for Prudential, they were the cheapest quote I could find and did not need a tracker. So not only a great price but an extra £100 cash back and tracked within 2 hours, that's the quickest I've ever had using Quidco for a couple of years.

Note, just for clarity and to differentiate from Quidco tracking. The Tracker fitted to the car is a device that sends out a signal that is used by the Police to locate the car if it is stolen.

So in summary. Prudential tracked £100 in less than 2 hours.

    Cheers

I renewed Home Insurance by splitting Buildings and Contents.

Both Barclays and LLoyds TSB have tracked so fingers crossed! :o If both pay out my Home Insurance will come to a grand total of £34! :o
  • even if the deal does not track is your application still being accepted? do you have to do any paperwork after completing the online application like send proof of no claims etc?
    thanks in advance

The time for a transaction to track varies from different companies. Prudential, for example, track within a couple of hours but Barclays takes over a week.

The insurance company may request proof of no claims separately although this shouldn't have any effect on whether the transaction has tracked or not.

    Hope that helps. :)
  • thanks jo_b that does help
