I'm not sure why Martin or anyone else never mentions this, but if you're a Nectar card holder then you can also get 2 points for every £1 spent at amazon.co.uk and lots and lots of other online retailers.
Simply go to the Nectar card website http://www.nectarcard.com and register online, and go to the Nectar eStores page. There's a permalink for it at the top of the Nectar card website. From there, link through to your e-tailer of choice and you'll get the points.
Does this mean that you have to go via the nectar site every time you shop, or is registering once enough?0 -

As one can see, it hardly received much of a view/responses (& some ingrates as well. Funny, nobody dare say anything negative or ungrateful here ).
Perhaps there should be an area in the forum where people can post MSE member's links to similar 'good' finds, so they can be 'better presented' by Martin (as was done in this post) or the mods? G
I think the difference in reaction is that this thread is, as you have said, 'better presented'. The post does explain exactly what the site does (where the original thread didn't).
Also the original thread was posted on the Freebies board - to benefit from this site you need to spend a minimum of £14.94 so it isn't actually a freebie.0 -
Sometimes, Amazon also sells the same product at more than one price. It is can be beneficial to order the item at the higher price to get the free postage!0

Exactly. By the time you add on postage for every item, even if they are form the same seller, you are better off ordering at the higher charge sometimes.
Also bear in mnd that if you have vouchers (from rpoints or somewhere) you can ony use them when you buy from Amazon not '3rd party sellers'. I got caught out by this recently, but my vouchers are still there for future use.The curve that can set a lot of things straight is a smile0 -
BUMP! I thought this might be relevant to anybody that gets Amazon vouchers for Christmas!
hmm... intriguing.0 -
Thanks Martin
I didn't know this before...
Used to put 'saver delivery' and wait for days...0 -
I live in Japan and often order DVD's from Amazon.uk as the same titles here are usually much more expensive. The great thing is the price is reduced by 17.5% (No VAT for orders shipped outside the UK! and it's automatically deducted at checkout.). The additional cost of sending items abroad isn't a lot more than standard UK postage rates. Especially good value if you want to order box sets which are charged at the same postage rate as single DVD's. I recently ordered the complete James Bond boxset. Compared to what some were charging on Ebay to ship to Japan, I saved a fortune.0
