  • Just one word of warning with the free delivery - I tried this in the past and found that the order came via courrier. I live in a town centre terrace with no 'safe place' to leave deliveries. I work during the day as do my neighbours. Therefore the delivery went back to the regional depot about 25 miles away. The card throught the door told me that I had to collect the item from the depot within 3 working days. There was no option to redeliver except to the same address - same problem would apply. I therefore had to take and extended lunch and drive a 50 mile round trip to get my 'free' delivery. Total cost in lost time and petrol about £20.

So probably fine if you have a handy place for deliveries to be left, available neighbours or if you can guarentee to be in. Otherwise I use the royal mail. I can walk to the sorting office to collect missed deliveries and they keep them longer before returning them.

I am currently boycotting Amazon.Reason being that I and many of my aging friends find their online ordering is becoming too complicated.Recently I tried to return a Answering machine they had sent me in duplicate.I returned it recorded delivery expecting a refund for the £3.63.They refused on the grounds that it was my mistake. Peggy
  • I'v always found Amazon Customer Services excellent. If you need to return something you can do free of charge (just print a off label on line). I recently had a problem with an item I bought 6 months ago and they immediately sent out a new item and I returned the faulty one free of charge.
Try giving their Customer Services a ring on 0800-2796620 and explain the problems you have had.

I have always found Amazon to be excellent as well.
