Urgent appeal for dog in need of a home or will be pts :(

  • Will probably get shot down for this but they are advertising him as a dog that gets on well with others which isn't very fair from what you say, on anyone wanting to / trying to rehome him.

Perhaps being a bit more honest might bring someone forward looking for a bit of a challenge?

He looks a a sweetheart hope someone takes him soon

Good luck, I hope he finds a home.

  • Even though I don't have the room for another dog I just had to look at all the dogs they have listed now im sat here crying for them it's just so sad that no one wants them or they just dumped them and left them for dead without a thought for them. If only I had a house of my own I'd have them all.

    I'm a big softie :(

.....Now despite our non-destruct policy, the time has come that the boss has decided that it is not fair to keep Sox in kennels for much longer. We cannot keep a dog in a small kennel for the rest of his life, no matter how many walks he gets per day and how much time in the playpen. It is just not fair. ...

    :eek::eek::eek:

but it's fair to have him PTS? Either they have a non-destruct policy or they dont?

    Poor Sox :(

    I'm inclined to agree.

I don't want to appear as negative against the rescue centre in question as I find rescue centres to do extremely important work but at the same time I can't say I agree that it is fairer to put a healthy dog down than it is to keep him alive.

He's not even the first dog on the list - he's the last - and the information about him is out of date based on what is said on the site and what has been said in the article about him.

He's only three years old, he's bouncy, he loves walks and toys - it isn't fair to have him PTS because he's been in the rescue 9 months. He HAS found one home in that time but had to be returned because of the problems he has with other dogs so surely if two people have wanted him, someone else will!

I hope he finds a home, I truly do. I can't offer him the home he wants or I'd take him because I cannot, ever, condone a healthy dog being PTS because it is "fair".

This is a very sad story and I just hope it doesn't have a tragic ending for poor Sox. I agree with the other posters though: he is the last dog on the list - how about moving him up to page one and making a bit of a feature about him, for a start? And his info does not match what we've been told about him here, which is a little odd...

Poor Sox. I would give him a home in a flash, if we didn't already have two dogs.

They are essentially putting Sox on death row, and there are plenty of rescues out there who take dogs in purely for that reason. I'd rather see him passed to another rescue than be PTS through no fault of his own. I know of one place that would rehome him within days I'm sure.

Please pursue EVERY avenue for this lad. He doesn't deserve to die because of the mistakes of the humans he's suffered. Poor boy :sad::sad:

Rather sadly, the other dog who was brought in with mine there is still on the list - they'd be up to pushing a three month stay by now too... Not at all happy - one reason we went there for our dog was the non-destruct policy and if they start doing that kind of thing, that's when the rot sets in.

  • Is he on dogpages? They are usually pretty good there.

Does anyone have an email address for this rescue? The email link on their site doesn't work (due to being a javascript placeholder).

After some consideration, I have decided it would be better for me to tell them direct what I think of their policy on "fair" and to make the suggestion that EmptyPockets offered that Sox be transferred to another rescue centre.
