digidave.co.uk - very angry indeed

Hi there,
TV power supply went bang last week, so looked on internet for a replacement, found digidave.co.uk did one, very reasonable blah blah blah.
I've recently moved house and haven't yet had the gumption to get to the bank to change my details there (I know, I know...), so typed an alternative delivery address into the order form, which appeared as the delivery address. Then went through their Sage payment site, and once the order had finished, the delivery address had reverted to the cardholders address - where I no longer live! There was no cancel button, no ammend order button, and the first I knew the address was wrong was once the order had been placed.
Within 15 minutes of this I had sent an email to sales and an email ticket to their support department, saying something along the lines of, could you change the address on this order, the correct address is saved on my account, please don't send to the cardholder address. I also left 2 messages on their answerphone.
I got no reply, no response, nada - until I had an email from them the following day saying that the order had been dispatched to the wrong address. Cue another angry email.
3 Days on and still nothing - I dunno if it was my mistake or an error with their system that caused the problem in the first place, but I notified them within minutes.
Having googled them, it seems I'm not alone - most common complaint is that support tickets are not replied to (unless they are at the pre-sales stage, of course - once they have your money they seem strangely uninterested).
3 points / questions-
1) I wanna watch TV but can't! Not the sort of thing high street retailers seem to sell.
2) AVOID DIGIDAVE!
3) Any idea what I should do now?
Thanks in advance, and sorry for wasting 5 minutes of your life with my thoroughly uninteresting story!!

I have used Digidave for a couple of purchases and had no problems at all.
I am a bit confused - you have failed to advise your bank of your new address but this is somehow their fault !
A lot of companies will only deliver to the cardholder's address to try and combat fraud.
I appreciate you realised your mistake and tried to make amends but it does sound like the retailer is getting the majority of the blame here...0 -

In fairness to the OP, if the website allows an alternative delivery address to be specified, only to revert to the cardholder's address after committing to buy, IMO the retailer deserves all the blame. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.

Agreed, I also had nightmares with Digidave.
Obviously nothing changes.

I wish I had seen this before I placed my order with DigiDave as a month after my initial order and I have still received nothing.
Yes, oevr a year after the initial posts and it seems that they have not got their act together and they still ignore messages as well.
I am going to complain to the credit card company who will hopefully stop their credit card facility, so if they haven't gone bust already it should make them realise that people place an order to receive product, not hassle.
Simple message, if your power supply blows then don't try to buy one from DigiDave as their service blows as well. Less hassle and cheaper in the long run to buy the whole product again with a new power supply.0 -
I used DigiDave via Amazon recently for a new P.S for an external hard drive - it arrived two days earlier than estimate and works - can I ask, the people who have had issues, did you order direct from DigiDave or via Amazon???0

I would advise people to avoid this company and seek another supplier of electrical goods.
I recently ordered a Casio musical keyboard adaptor from them to replace the one I seemed to have lost but never received any acknowledgement from them of my order by e-mail, which immediately aroused my suspicions. I used my credit card and noticed they were not backwards in drawing the money from my account and was left wondering if I had made a serious mistake. I contacted my bank and expressed my concerns and was told to allow up to 15 days for delivery after which action could be taken over non-delivery.
After about a week the item did arrive, however, when I unpacked it, was rather disappointed by its apparent lack of quality. I tried it out on my Casio keyboard but it did not appear to work but did seem to work on another keyboard I own. Later, I tried again and this time it did work on my Casio keyboard, but intermittently. I decided to order another adaptor from an alternative supplier via Amazon, which was around the same price, and received the usual e-mail confirmation and expected delivery time. This item looked a better quality one than the one from DigiDave and has proven more reliable.
I would never use DigiDave again because I have completely lost trust in both the quality of their products and complete lack of customer service. I would advise anyone else to find another supplier because they are running a serous risk dealing with a company who deals with sub-standard products. The people who have been satisfied with their dealings with DigiDave have, to date, been lucky in my view and are running a serious risk in the future by using them again.0 -

Initially, when searching for the item, I tried the Amazon website and on selecting it, was transferred to DigiDave's website, so it seems Amazon was not directly involved in the transaction. Amazon always acknowledges orders placed, with estimated delivery times and an invoice summary, as you would expect. I received none of this from DigiDave. I'm just wondering if Amazon does not wish to get too involved with this company other than as a directory for them.0 -
The retailer is to blame here, but honestly, the time you've spent sorting it out and posting on here is many times longer than it would have taken to change your address details with your bank.
If you are the victim of card or account fraud and the contact details are out of date, how are they supposed to contact you, assuming that your home number has changed? No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

WebPlodder really needs to create a new thread, as they have just bumped this thread up. Which you have replied to.0
