with 2 year old twins rumaging through everything and trying to trash the place all the time ive often thought about getting a cleaner in, the reason i havent is because im one of those sad people who thinks "id better clean up because the cleaners coming" duh!0

I say keep your cleaner too. I am a cleaner myself and I dread the thought of any of my client's giving me the push. They are so lovely and the wages are my livelihood!:DGrocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

I cant afford one to do everything so need to work out what will benefit us the most.
Also, what hours do you have them? In one go or a bit each day?
Oh, and thanks OP for this thread...... I dont feel so bad about getting a cleaner now!
dh's cleaner used to come in for 2 hours a week in one block, normally on a friday morning. she would mop and hoover the entire ground floor and clean the bathroom, en-suite and kitchen. Then hoover through upstairs. She would concentrate on one room a week ...living room, dining room, or one of the bedrooms etc. This was fine for him as he was living on his own at the time. When i moved in we hired her sister to do the ironging too. she would collect a bin bag on the friday and drop it off after the weekend.

Sorry...would like to help but live in a rural village up North and cleaner won't travel out of village never mind to the bright lights of the capital!!! Good luck in finding a cleaner though. I asked around all my friends and family to find her and I was surprised how many people actually had cleaners but kept it quiet!!!0 -

My cleaner does four hours in one block per week. I tidy up for her the night before and get all the washing done and into the ironing basket. That way, I'm only actually paying for cleaning and ironing and she isn't wasting her time on putting things away. In the four hours she does everything all the hovering, dusting, mopping, sweeping, cleaning of all sinks, bath and shower and does one hour of ironing. I'm specific and say I only want the fronts done with the ironing if we can get away with it to ensure we get the quantity through. I usually have to do about another 1/2 hour later in the week but she breaks the back of it for me. I occasionally ask for an additional hour every now and again to clean the oven or clean the windows etc. OH and I spoke again about it last night and said we are definately going to keep her. Will have to find savings somewhere else I guess...must try harder with ASDA! :rotfl: Thanks everyone again0 -

If you do feel moody you might take it out on the children and your partner. So more work, place like a pigsty and family rows - £22 seems like a bargain to avoid all of that!
When I had my child, again I could not be bothered to clean on top of everything else. I got cleaners in once a fortnight which was great. I tend to do my own now and make them do their own rooms. I do the main house as I am home all day. My husband does the ironing as it doesn't look like I have done it, so I wouldn't bother ironing if I was alone. An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

Nearest Aldi is over 10 miles away...and tbh haven't found it that much cheaper and can't get all the items I need...especially baby things. I end up doing two shops in the week if I go to Aldi! Granted though....I do really like some of their continental stuff! Bacon especially nice! Sometimes go to stock up on tins etc which are very cheap...as I said must try harder to get below £300.00 per month!0
