Great Cheap 'Games Console Package' Hunt

I think the prices that I have found on the Xbox 360 are still too expensive! I am willing to take an IOU like Martin suggests and then hitting the stores for after Christmas sales!
If the predictions are right, and interest rates are scheduled to go up, then we may be facing a dismal Christmas for sales. Then prices go down as retailers try to clear out over-stocks.
Be patient and keep looking for better prices after Christmas!

Related to this, if yr looking to buy DS software I really wouldn't buy in this country be it online or retail as you'll pay a massive premium.
I get all mine from abroad. Sites such as:
http://www.movietyme.com/
http://www.videogamesplus.ca/
http://www.play-asia.com/
http://www.tronixweb.com/
I import my consoles as well as they're cheaper, the software is cheaper and comes out earlier but that's a different discussion.
Anyway, hope that helps...0 -
Those hoping for Wii's by christmas may be disappointed if they haven't yet pre-ordered. Nintendo seem to being doing something like what Xbox360 did (creating false demand) and only releasing a really limited amount of consoles. Hopefully they will be a few more batches before Xmas though.~Diminutive0

I have brought the Nintendo DS lite black from LX Direct using codes for £ 68.50 plus 4.5% cahsback quidco, and then brought game and accessory pack from HMV for £ 30.98 and 11% off from quidco, so for £ 93.45 have console, brain training game and accessory pack.0

To all those out there interested in purchasing the nintendo ds lite on its own ,
I have just ordered a white nintendo ds lite through Littlewoods on line for
£109.00 but I also found a £30.00 discount voucher through google which then made the total cost only £ 79.00 , it will be delivered by the 23rd November and they have even given me 20 weeks interest free to pay it off !! not bad eh .0 -
Was in store at Toys R Us today and picked up the voucher that you take to the till for the DS Lite Super Mario + and accessory pack plus any free £29.99 game for £129.95. When the voucher wouldn,t scan the checkout girl got a supervisor. She eventually came back and said that they could not sell it to me and they were checking with head office as to what they should do!!!! Good deal if you can get it, unfortunately I couldn,t.Humans only use around forty percent of their brains capacity. Imagine what we could achieve if we used the other seventy percent!0

Have just pre-ordered from HMV online for £179.99 and you get consol, nunchuck controller, sports game and remote. Also if you log in through greasypalm.co.uk you get 1.25% in cashback ( it all adds up ). Found last year that more likely to get hard-to-get consols etc from sites you would not normally think of.
Also if you have any friends working at an airport that has HMV shops or if you know anyone flying out ( after launch date ) then you can get this at VAT free prices - last year got pink nintendo DS from heathrow after sold out everywhere else.
Restrictions have been lifted with airport workers being able to buy most goods in airport duty free shops apart from cigs / booze. Therefore consider Dixons etc ( see BAA website for shops )Everything you need is out there - you just need to ask..................:A0 -

Hi
What do you mean 'using codes for £ 68.50 plus 4.5% cahsback quidco' - is this something we can all do too?
Thanks for the price so far - definitley looking more of a possibility to buy

I consider myself a superior console buying moneysaver because I picked up a Nintendo Gamecube for £30 a couple of weeks ago. The games are all nice and cheap too. To be honest I don't think it's miles better than the N64 I have, so am not expecting the Wii (or PS3 or 360 or whatever) to be that much better. I'm certainly not a 'hard core gamer', but I've been playing them on and off since about 1980 and have become slightly cynical about the games that get churned out these days.
Having said all that, my kids are not pestering me for the latest, greatest console, so that obviously makes it easier not to get one. Still, I'm more than happy with my £30 purchase :-)0
