I've been using IDNet since February. They aren't the cheapest and you have to buy a router but it has been such a reliable service that I would not change it.
I had to phone them on Friday on the out of hours emergency No. and no, it wasn't an expensive call but I did get an answering machine asking for my phone No.
I'll guarantee they must have called me back within 10mins and the fault wasn't theirs anyway.

Been with aol for over a year now, £14.99 a month 1 mbit unlimited downloads +free wireless router, a necessity for my wireless laptop, 0870 support and free online supprt not expensive like some isp's who charge up to £1 a min.
Remember you can have problems with any isp so that is why I would advice caution against taking advice from anyone who condems aol outright. Overall I have been with aol for over 5 years both dialup and broadband (only left for a year when I won a free years bb with bt) Aol have treated me fine so far, with many a free month when I threatened to leave, so overall I find it not a bad isp atall.

If you live in a good area with a good exchange, your house wiring is good, you dont have many intereferences, you put your microfilters in correctly, tiscali is the best in my opinion as many people i know with good exhanges seem to have less problems with them. but if you out in the sticks or have a bad exhange or bad wiring then it aint that good, stick to BT.0
