Please help me understand baby car seats

When my DD was a baby, her seat (9 months-4 years) was fitted into the car by Halfords, secured under the seat & bolted to the car frame, I'm surprised they don't do this anymore.
That was more than 20 years ago though, wasn't it? The world has moved on since then! No need to have the monkeys at Halfrauds do it now there's isofix.
I think you may find lots of things have moved on since your daughter was a baby. I know my mum has issues with this (I'm 33 so some things have moved on a lot since she had me) and she's not even here day to day (lives abroad). That said, babies haven't changed much in thousands of years, so there's only so much advice anyone can/should listen to anyway! Yes it was over 20 years ago & I'm all for progress:D
But the old 9mths-4years car seats from Halfords were great.
Their were straps bolted to the chassis of my car, under the seat, they had fittings on the end & the seat clipped into them. Cheap, solid & simple.
You needed one per car though, unless you had more straps bolted to other chassis.0 -
MrsE, the oyster is fantastic, I was just telling someone else how I got mine to fit in the rear footwells of a peugot 306 just removing the big wheels... Definitely versatile!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
