It's not so much a feature of the phone, as the software.
Any Windows mobile, Android or other smartphone will do what you're after - if it's not stock behaviour then there's loads of little programs you can D/L which can be found by googling.
"Conversation View"+ the name of your phone OS is a good place to start, but yeah, don't feel like wanting convo-view in any way limits your choice of handset, because it shouldn't.

My LG360 does that - not a smartphone or anything like that, if its a basic phone you're after.
