  • paulie yes I think I realized you were carrying and meant to add that - will do asap!

to all the newbies you are all doing well but still expecting toooooooooooooooooo much of yourselves. take the list for each day and what you dont get done just forget and move on the next day - stop trying to play catch up - well at least until you get some sort of order and then you will find you can whizz round and catch up no problem! Aim for LEVEL 1 and anything else is a bonus. make sure you do dailies and bed-time routines and the rest will fall into place in time - you will not conquer the lists in the first couple of weeks - be prepared to stick with the lists for at least 4-6 weeks to get on top of everything!.
But like I said you ARE doing well so far - keep at it.

    I've been Money Tipped!

    Thanks toots.

I've always been daunted by the flyladies threads, not because of the getting stuf done but because of the speed of the threads and the camaraderie...I feel rude for not being able to keep up with the personal stuff and not knowing lots of the people :o. Also, although I'm actually quite good at getting stuff done...what flying is helping with is taking the control out of my hands. If it says kitchen I DO kitchen....not avoid putting that on the list because daunted by it nor race in to do everything downstairs in a day.

My routine before was more like upstairs one day, downstairs the next alternately, but doing things like deep cleaning kitchen/bathrooms/beds not every second day...just licks and promises.

This has meant in the past hotspots get overlooked too long and that I overrush to get things done in a day since we moved and I've got a new start up micro business as well as the house etc to worry about.

Getting into flylady is helping me feel less daunted about the upcoming projects here because I know I'll b able to achieve level one at least. I'm a bit worried how I'll get the lawn being cut in as well when that starts too, and once in the swing of things I guess I'll have more level one only days but more HHCs etc to make time for gardening and work and other jobs.

So, new to flylady, but not new to daily lists and housewifery, just hoping to make them more ''fly'' than fulltime as I enter a new stage of life.
  • Hello,

Dropping in with my update ! I still find it hard to put myself to a task for long ! so, i break it into 15 minutes sections.Doing a daily tidy around the main areas of the house is now getting to be routine !! I always imadgine that I will have an unexpected friend drop in, or worse, my sister !! and imadgine how they would see how I was living .So, I am sitting here now having,
    scrapped another door of paint,
done two loads of washing & eventually saw the bottom of my washing basket
plan to book a week off work end of Febuary/Start of March, to get my stairs decorated & front room changed.
I have opened up the corner of my front room that became my dumping ground.
    wiped downed the kitchen cupboards
ironed work clothes for the week.
got 10 items of ironing per night to do, it works for me.
    cleaned the bathroom.
tomorrow, ordering a recycle bin from the council, making recycling easier.
I have lost 5lbs in weight over the last 3 weeks in since being a bit more active, planning meals etc.
tomorrow, sending SOA to creditors, taking ownership, not going through fee paying DMP.
I feel and have been told that I sound a lot more confident, think its down to be organised.
this week, putting 4 items on ebay.
freecycle 2 items and hopefully get gifted a wardrobe from freecycle.
    Hope that everyone is well.

  • Hey folks, I have joined in with Flylady threads previously, but not for a while now. I've made loads of resolutions for 2011, two of the big ones being to get into a routine, and to make my flat into a home (at the moment it's pretty bare apart from the clutter and the dust). I am determined to make it stick and hoping that these threads will help me!

Can I join in please? Since I'm not on the lists any more, and it's been a while, I'm not sure if this is still required: :xmastree:
