For Halifax to actually phone you, is usually is 2 or 3 things to cause it. Most likely an account is in arrears, secondly there's a security block on and thirdly (and it doesn't happen very often) it's to make you aware of a special Balance Transfer offer. Now if it's none of these things, my guess would be you have another HBOS card somewhere with activity on it.0 -

Nope
Morgan Stanley are a huge company in their own right0 -
I bank with the Halifax and they have never called me - always try to sell something in the branch tho. If I had received these calls I would ask for the persons number and ring them back - see what they answer with etc. I would be very suspicious and suggest you call customer services and ask for someone in a senior position.0

From a quick bit of research through google, it does look as if it is a collections telephone number. And they wouldnt be phoning you for no reason.
Now the person you spoke to earlier said your account was fine, Buffyslay. I still thing you may have another type of account with Halifax (probably credit card, but it could be something else).
I would suggest phoning 08457 28 38 48, which is the general enquires number for halifax cards. Now, give them your account details etc and complete security. Once they've done that, request they search for you on the system to see if there are any other accounts under your name and address. If nothing else shows then at least you know there's no possibility it's to do with an HBOS card (Halifax/Bos/Sainsburys/AA etc etc).0 -

They are forever sending stuff through the post and even asked my wife in the branch if she was interested in some services they had, she was only paying check in!. She said no so they sent the cr*p in the post anyway.
They have wound me up so much that I moved all my accounts with exception of the mortgage elsewhere. (to better accounts I may add and not just anywhere).
After many letters I rung them up and asked to be removed from all mailing lists. Seem succesful but I guess only time will tell.
You can be removed from marketing lists at counter, by email, by letter and by phone. however, say your mortgage rate was ending you would not receive a normal letter as everyone else - as this would be seen as marketing. so sometimes a disadvantages of selecting no
be fair to the cashiers - it is their job to get leads. also mystery shoppers look for several things such as someone asking about other products and services - so it is drilled into them to ask0
