Why are Google and/or Bing maps not working out your routes?

You ask,
“Why are Google and/or Bing maps not working out your routes? Failing that, both RAC and AA have the facilities on their websites.”
Firstly I’m not sure if you are addressing 1v1109 who asked the following or BML who asked the question relating to Autoroute.
“1v1109 I wonder if anyone knows of anywhere I can find an intelligent route planning piece of software or a website that I can use? What I need to do is tell it the places I need to go and for it to tell me the best order to visit those places? I assume there must be some sort of software like this available and would be grateful for a point in the right direction.”
BML I would like to have continued to use Microsoft AutoRoute but for some strange and unexplained reason Microsoft have said, "stuff the user and dumped it so I'm looking for an alternative. I would prefer a free system but am prepared to pay if needed.
I want to set off exploring again with my camper and the initial trip is the South Coast. My needs are simple in that I know I can use a Post Code with a GPS to find a target site but I want to plan my route on a computer with an application that will allow me to mimic AutoRoute. In other words, input a Post Code that will show up on a map and can later be used to create a route if required. Does anyone know of such an application?
If the question was addressed to me the answer is that I am in the process of trying out Google and Bing with not a lot of luck so when I know where I’m going I will let you know and probably try to pick your brains.0 -
Hello Louise, what do you need it for? Private use or for sales route planning? I had a good experience with a tool called xxxx when I was still working in Sales. Compared to google, bing and viamichelin, it can optimize routes to many addresses. Big but though: it´s only free for the first month if I remember correctly. Good luck finding your way ;D
I can see no other reason for a new poster to drag up an old thread other than :spam:0 -
This poster has posted 4 times today in 4 separate boards, and none of the posts (bar one) give any impression other than post boosting.0
