Thanks for that.
Looking on the bright side at least there will be a warning of when it will happen and when you look at the poor souls in Queensland and Brazil this week, we are still very, very lucky.0 -
That's it then, off to check where all of the candles and torches are, mobile chargers etc.
We have gas central heating which of course won't work in a power cut as the timer uses electric.
The cooker is also electric.
I have just said to my husband it will be a case of cooking something in advance in the pressure cooker and warming it up in a pan on the little gas camping stove that we have yet to christen.
Best I get my harris down to the camping shop and get some spare gas canisters before they start flying off the shelves.
I will be able use my mobile phone to go online but best I stick to forums so that I don't use much power.
Quite sad really that I am thinking of going online at these times of crisis.
As has been mentioned before, it won't be the end of the world, at least we have somewhere to live and we are alive, unlike a lot of poor people around the world at the minute.0 -
Not sure the internet will work.. the repeaters here go off when the elect does. I'm always sayng to have a backup for everything - Calor gas is terrific. Have a wee camping ring or stove and then you can have tea, coffee, cuppasoup and instant noodles if nothing else . A Calor gas heater is instant heat anywhere you want it. Have candles always, and dont forget matches LOL0
