Does the traffic management affect those on the 20mb package for Virgin?
I was considering taking the plunge but may go for Sky too!

For your package, if you:

download more than 7 GB between 10am and 3pm
download more than 3.5 GB between 4pm and 9pm
upload more than 1.4 GB between 3pm and 8pm

Your connection speed gets reduced by 75% for 5hrs.

In case of any confusion the above figures are per day.

There was also additional traffic management introduced recently - unspecified slowdown of newsgroup downloads and P2P from 5pm to midnight.

The "unlimited" in the adverts is not to be understood to mean unlimited as defined in a dictionary
That said unless you are looking for 24x7 full tilt downloading you are unlikely to be impacted by any of that. All that is needed to avoid conflict is a bit of common sense.

as a heavt downloader and a gamer i have never noticed this taking affect.

virgin > sky for all intents and purposes unless you live next door to the exchange
