Engine Management System light on a Nissan Almera

Options
The engine management light of my 2001 Nissan Almera is on. When I am driving, sometimes It shakes you. I have had it fully serviced, and the ecu system was cleaned by a local mechanic, but the light is still on. Anyone had the same problem, and their experience to solve this.

this new link is easier to user basically put in the dates yopu want to search between (if yours was first registered in December 2001 I would put 01 December 2001 as the start date and today as the end date) then select your make and model. It will bring up a list of recalls

If you vehicle is having similar problems then your Nissan Dealer will be able to tell you if it has already been in for this recall and if not they will repair it free of charge

    Car Recalls

    thanks

I have spoke to nissan customer services asking them whether My vehicle is affected by a recall, they said my vehicle is out of range and therefore would charge for a diagnostic. I paid £35 for this diagnostic test and the result was :

"Multiple faults stored, including throttle pos sensor/misfire (suspected coils) . would recommend replacement of coils and ECM reset.
possible timing chain fault/ requires further investigation"

it s a real headache now

yes It does jump when pushing the accelerator. I am trying to get quotes from different garages and see which suits me best. anyway, I will sell it at the end as i hate spending money on cars.

  • does the revs on your car fluctuate when idling sometimes to the point of cutting out ? I had a BMW and had this problem and it was cured by replacing a couple of coils that fit directly onto the spark plugs ........what was happening was the coils were shorting and causing the ecu to basically reboot .It cost me a bit of a fortune to get to the cause ..trying new airflow meters many visits to the dealer etc but was cured by the coils .

    Hope this might help :)
