Haha! Told you I was angry! I've just started a job blog to vent, feel a bit better now.

Yessss!! Funny coincidence. Just had a phone call from an agency, they had seen my CV on total jobs and left a voicemail on my answer phone. I had literally just applied for the job he wanted me for as he rang me. Meeting them tomorrow.

Not getting my hopes up too much because I know how these agencies work but it's a start.

Chased up the agency today. Should hear from one of the consultants within the hour and another by the end of the day. They're speaking to four different companies about me and if I'm honest, I'm really hoping to get an interview with two of them as I have heard rumours they're short staffed. Fingers crossed.

One of my friends who lost his job in exactly the same circumstances as me starts work this week in the sort of role I would like. I'm really pleased for him and it's spurred me on to look even harder because if he can get another job, surely it's possible for me to get one too. (He lives in a different part of the country, we're not in direct competition for work!)

I have to admit though, that I'm a little bit depressed as well as happy for him.

I've realised I'm avoiding meeting up with friends because a) I need to watch the pennies and b) I feel awful about being unemployed. I don't miss my former employer, I don't think they treated me very well, but I do feel that I lost a little bit of who I was when I lost the job title. Has anyone else ever felt the same way? It looks silly, now I've written it down, but I do keep feeling a little bit useless.

Anyway, will make an effort to stay positive. I may get some good news by the end of the day, after all. :)

Is it just me or is it really slow for jobs this week?

they really are making it stupidly difficult now to get a job. I applied for one job the other day to which I was asked "Do you have your own transport" I said yea I use the bus, The woman on the phone said they are only taking people on now who have they're own transport as you can't rely on public transport, Yea great so not only is it already hard enough to get a job but unless you have a car aswell then your screwed, It's just stupid, Sometimes you feel like just becoming one of these scummy chavs who actually enjoy being unemployed, Sadly I have morals and dignity so I can't be like that but its very disheartening.

Rashly applied for four jobs today, however it has all gone a bit quiet, I was getting a lot of calls last week.
Interview with charming recruiters this afternoon so that's enough for today, but I am very worried about things going quiet again? Why would that happen? I am up for a lot of jobs, the CV has got great reviews from recruiters (including meets brief perfectly!).
Why would recruiters love the CV and not employers? The recruiters are being honest here, as I have met the ones that just 'pump and dump'.

What happens when I wear out ten recruiters and a great CV?

I've found that constantly. I don't drive and it's really holding me back, yet it's a vicious circle because I don't have the money to learn to drive!

They pay pennies yet want everyone to drive, speak Welsh (another one I come up against) and jump through hoops!

I haven't actually met anyone in my life that could fill some of the job descriptions I have seen!

I'm currently learning to drive with the hope that it will improve my prospects. It is very expensive but luckily I got driving lessons from all my family members for Christmas and for my birthday.
