By and large, the camera partnerships only raise the insurance issue if it appears that one car has several drivers. In other words, if people have been passing points onto their wife / husband because their getting close to a ban, then it might cause questions to be asked. If you've not been snapped before, the chances are that they'll cash the cheque, endorse your licence and leave it at that.

Lets hope that's the case for the OP and hope they get the insurance situation sorted.

The greater offence taking the priority?

Yes, they may well still convict for speeding but give no separate penalty so you woud have to disclose both to the insurance.

But then how easy is it to check, just a case of looking at another page on the computer, as easy as popping onto the insurance board.
  • still find it hard to beleive you would even risk driving with out making sure you were insured

i always make sure driving other cars is on my policy or i get written conformation that im allowed and also the max valu eof car it will allow me to drive. I borrowed my friends porsche and checked with them that is was covered as its a bit more expensive than my car. They said the limit is 50k and the porsche new was 48k so i was good to go just had to make sure i didnt crash it as i was only 3rd party

If your driving under the driving other cars extension of your policy, then the cover provided is only Third Party Only, the Insurers would not normally have any interest in the value of the car.
