This isn't really a problem. Just buy a stack of DVD-R disks (20p each at the VERY most), and dub to them, then finalise them to enable others to watch them on their standard DVD players.

Once they've served their purpose, either put them with the rest of your DVD library, or use them as coasters.

I've now opted for the Panasonic DMREX75 DVD Recorder.

The best deal I have found is with Dixons at £271 including delivery.
