Hi Why oh why (& Sharon)

I have been sent a mail stating the exam bumph will be posted to me again tomorrow.

    Have you had the same?

Due to work commitments, and family stuff that I can't cancel, I have Sat, Sunday and Tuesday evening only for study / submission, and hope that's enough time...

    Keep in touch :)
    Tara

Yep, I've been told I'll get the links today :D

    Good luck :D

A grand total of 3 minutes work today! And I've just received a email in the post "English UK Rater Bulletin" - has anyone else had this? I'm mainly asking because I can't make head nor tail of some it - its virtually semi illiterate. ( mind when I tried some of their training quizzes I found myself desperate to correct all the errors in them so maybe I'm just nit picking!)
Do any more long term Lionbridge raters know how long dry spells usually last?

  • Hi,

I was in the middle of reading the General Guidelines and doing the Pre Exam Simulator when I received an email saying that due to a technical error I could no longer access the exam. They have apologised and said that I will be re-entered for the exam 'at a later date'. Has anyone else has this problem? Do you know if and when they are likely to be in touch?

    Thanks,

Well...I've been doing some digging and this is seen by some employees as a way of slowing down the workforce, when there's not much work available. Strange that its happened to us both, with no comment and I'm sure we aren't the only ones. I'll leave it a few days and email them. Tell me if you get a response. :)

I've had the infamous Quality Issues e-mail after 4 months with them, is it really the end if you get this or is it just to hide the fact that there is no work ? :(

It can be ages, it can be a week.. it really depends on what they get sent through from their customers. I had 2 really crappy months last summer where i was averaging something like 5 hours a week. But other times it flows in. You just have to look at it as an extra thing to do, rather than set aside a specific time to do it, else it can get frustrating.

Thanks for the info Wesleyad. I guess I'll just have to see how it goes and hope it picks up otherwise I'll be saving for a long weekend in the Lake District rather than a special holiday! Having said that there's been more than I have time for today....

There is no secret method to passing :)
You just have to read the guidelines PDF inside out, and then when answering the questions, keep referring back to it.
Make sure you have no distractions around you, as you need to be 100% with your concentration.

    Good luck!
