I applied for an Internet Assessor position a month or so ago but got an email telling me they already had enough applicants. Today I got an email inviting me to apply for a position as an "Internet Crowd Worker"

Can anyone give me any info regarding the rates of pay?

    Thanks

    Hello

Looking for a wee bit of help if possible. I wondered if anyone is working as an internet crowd worker (or knows about this role) and could tell me a bit about how it works. I think it is different from the assessor type roles in that you get paid per task. I wondered how often tasks came along and are they of longer duration than those for the assessor posts. Or is it a case your hours per week/month would be much lower (and therefore overall pay) much lower in this type of post.

I ask because im assuming you cant do two positions for lionbridge at the same time and if this post typically produces tasks very infrequently then perhaps it would be better to wait until assessor posts become available again?

Also does anyone know if there is an exam for this position? Thanks in advance for any info. Hope all of you now working for lionbridge are getting on well.

@Techn, I don't know what site you are checking but http://www.thesmartcrowd.com/ has plenty of opportunities in the UK at the moment.

@j30 according to the FAQs on the site you can work on more than one project, although I've no idea how this would work in practice. My understanding is that there is an exam for all jobs, which is how they recruit. I've never worked for them (I'm trying to get a job with them at the moment) however my understanding is that overall they are a reliable, reputable company with whom one can earn good money. There are times when there is little/no work and times when there is a lot but it seems to balance out.

Avon2001 - thanks for that thats useful info. Good luck with your application

Techn - I wondered the same currently considering add assessor, crowd worker and spelling assessor. No idea which would be considered the 'better' job to try for and also the one that may generate a better income. Although obviously I may not be successful in any!

very true. I was also thinking in terms of those that have the most work available and maybe more places available, instead of a position which maybe is hard to get into.

I tried to apply for internet assessor a while ago but was told they don't need any more people at the moment. They suggested I apply for the speller position.

I instead found all these other positions online but was told that was the only UK position available at the moment.
Applied and been waiting for the exam for over two weeks now already...

Thanks for this. Can I ask a daft question. How did you contact lionbridge to establish this. Was it via email? I have been trying to find a number for queries like this but there doesnt seem to be an obvious one.
