Hi All,
Hoping someone can help, I have had my date through for the Lionbridge exam, I really really want this job! thing is I am waiting for my Broadband to be installed and am currently using a dongle, will this effect my exam? I can go and do it at somewhere else that has usual broadband, which I will do if it might effect my exam results.
My broadband will be fitted within the next 2 weeks (after the exam dates) so wont effect it if they give me the position.
Many thanks in advance.0 -
Why not contact the Lionbridge people? They're really helpful with this sort of thing.Don't mess with pensioners. :cool:0

I have just been told that I may be a 'suitable candidate' for the role and I will be sitting the exam soon.
I have a quick question
I understand that the exam will take 5 hours and that I get 5 days to take it. I just wondered if it has to be done in one go or if I could do say an hour each day for the 5 days?
Also has anyone got any advice?
Cheers0 -
I have just finished my 11 month contract and found the whole experience very positive. The exam can be taken over the whole period of time (if I remember you can save your answers and come back) but I would suggest it takes longer than 5 hrs to do it properly. There is an awful lot of info to digest and you need to take frequent breaks to stop your brain from frying!0

I've just been told that I'm not up to the minimum standard so I've been stopped from rating and I have to review all the rating guidelines. I thought I was doing OK but obviously not. It's very disappointing.Don't mess with pensioners. :cool:0

Oh dear. It really is a roller coaster at times! In my first month I was gutted to get 2 stars as I thought I was doing ok, then the next month I improved a bit and gradually my ratings got much better. I know it's really disheartening at the moment, especially when you don't know where you going wrong, but it really does get easier and hopefully you'll get help to improve and work on any weak areas. Don't give up!0 -
To be honest I am finding the work incredibly boring and that is probably what's gone wrong. If your heart isn't in a job you can't do it well.Don't mess with pensioners. :cool:0

Hi,
Does anyone know if I am able to re-apply for the assessor role if I was rejected the first time around in June 2011?
Thanks0
