    I haven't planned a thing yet, will try to keep it very low key, I fancy just going for a spa day and then evening meal in a nice hotel. My only BM is my 16yr old step daughter who can't organise herself let alone a do! I'm trying to avoid the subject in front of my mate who got married last year...her hen night consisted of a boozy stagger round Telford with her dressed in an oversized babygro...she's threatened to get me in it for my night...not a chance in hell !!!!
    :D :T Became Mrs Allison on 23rd April 2011 :D:T

    :heart::D Also trying for a baby :D:heart:

    Mine is this weekend :j

    We're going to a nice hotel with a spa in Leeds and having a pamper day then in the evening we're all getting dressed up as Barbies and going out for dinner and (lots of) drinks. I'm not too sure about where we're going as it's being kept quiet but I can't wait! My bag is packed already! :D

    I can't believe you're having 4 hen nights Bride2be!

    OOhhhh would you mind telling me the name of the hotel and how much its costing you? Thats what I want to do but my maid of hoonour said she can't find one we can afford!

    Sent you a PM Lisa :)
    Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

  • I had mine last year - birdcage VIP in manchester - fab choice, really good atmosphere.

    Im planning my best friends this year. Im organising a popstar theme as shes a bit of a kareoke queen!

    Daytime - theres a place in sheffield where you go and they choreograph (sp??) a dance to your fave track for you all. Theres props and bubbly and once you've all got it they film it and pop it on a dvd. We're having an 80s song.

    On to a all you can chinese buffett - cheap and cheerful

    Nighttime - everyone goes home and gets ready for the fancy dress - pop star theme - we meet at the hens, have a toast to the bride, watch the dvd, laugh ourselves silly, then on to the birdcage in Leeds with my hubby driving the minibus.

    Im also organising (very MSE style) goody bags for everyone. Its my mission to make sure everyones happy and mingling so the hen can just concentrate on having a great night:D

  • Really Really good. We paid 15 pound each which let us jump the queue and gave us our own table. Its smaller than i had imagined but i guess that dded to the atomsphere. It was mostly hen parties and dressing up is encouraged. The stage at the front doubles up as a dance floor when the acts arent on, i think it was an act every half an hour. Men dressed as pop stars really going for it - but its not cringy they are great! really funny too. The bar is a little expensive but to be honest, not really much more than any other club these days. You wont regret going - there was none of that "meat market" feel that you can get at some places, everyone just wanted a good time and a good laugh. The music was a mixture from 70s to current, something for everyone to dance to!!
    Oh and if you say youre a hen do when you book you get a free hen night kit - willy straws anyone??!!!!! :j

    We're off to Blackpool Pleasure Beach and the arcades in the morning, then heading home for 8 for a meal in the town centre, a few jugs of cocktails and a boogie!! I can't wait!

    The mini bus taking us has a keareoke system installed so we can all have a sing song there and back!! Have told the driver to bring industrial strength ear plugs!!

    I'm having a jewellery making workshop in the afternoon at a local bead shop, then to Bistro Live in Nottingham for the evening do - cheesy but good! :beer:
