Meanwhile, the useless coalition government benefits to the tune of £2 billion, apparently

By April fuel economists are saying.

Well, £1.40 for diesel, £1.36 for Petrol, average price across the UK.

That's getting slightly worrying. Especially for those living in more rural areas.

Will the UK be able to cope with these high prices? It has a knock on effect to pretty much everything.

Couldn't quite believe it when it cost me £74 to fill up the car a couple of days ago. At £1.40 a litre, I'd be over £80. For a standard diesel car.

Higher rents, higher food prices, higher transport costs, higher electric / gas costs, all well exceeding inflation.

Somethings gonna give? I'm just wondering what, when, and how bad it will be.

I'm already paying 1.38 a litre for Diesel around here and you REALLY need a car here. What is it elsewhere?

Since no one else is focused on the real subject, I'll answer. It's £1.32 at my local village pump, which is normally competitive, but I've not noticed what it is elsewhere yet.

Using http://www.petrolprices.com in my area it's:

    Unleaded 127.9-129.9
    Diesel 129.9-134.9

But then there are only 3 petrol stations within a 15+ mile radius, so it's that or nothing.

Thanks Dave:) I use the local Tesco filling station mostly (because at least I get points on it there) but most of the stations here (and again there are not a lot of them) are about the same price.

It wouldn't be so bad if there was some sort of rationalisation of the prices. You go to Swansea (about 60 miles from here) and it is around the £1.32 mark there, and Llanelli (about 40 miles ish) is also lower:mad: We are out in the sticks, where you really do need a car, but get a new one ripped if we need to use it:D

I pay less in Aussie dollars than you guys do in pounds!

I'm popping over for a visit. Filling the hire car's going to kill me.
