I'm not sure I'm going to be able to afford to keep running my car once the tax and insurance become due in August. If I declare SORN (as it is on a driveway sans battery which was stolen), does it still require 3rd party insurance? I'd like to have some idea in advance. Cheers

I've just had mine off the road for six months although it was taxed all that time, I went to cancel my insurance with Direct Line and he suggested a basic insurance (I can't remember what it was) that would cover my car against theft and vandalism, I didn't take it up in the end but I do know that it would only have cost me about £3 a month.

Thanks for that; vandalism is prolly a good thing to be insured against.
