I like butter and HP on a nice pile of fresh runners, a few new spuds round it off nicely, and with my OH being a meat freak - a few sausages fill the meaty gap.0

Butter's just fine, thank you. HP? Weirdos.

Anyway, a nice productive day today. I've planted 3 types of beetroot, 2 types of turnip, swede, spring onions and parsnips. I've also sown 40 tomato seeds, but I am worried that I've left them a bit late. I think I was a bit early last year, but I'm at least a fortnight behind where I should be with them.
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
last year you you had sown toms by the beginning of march

It will be interesting to see if it makes any difference to your crop this year.0 -

I know. I'm really worried I've left it too late.

Oh, and next Saturday I should have a new fence arriving. :j Although that might prove a bit awkward as my veg plots are bordered on one end by the gravel boards. Any ideas as to how I can best protect them from a hefty booted bloke, and prevent them from collapsing when he takes the old gravel boards out?If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

It is getting a bit late to do them, maybe hedge your bets and get a few cheap plants from somewhere, maybe a car boot, or someone selling them from their house?mrbadexample wrote: »I know. I'm really worried I've left it too late.
I would say it's too late to be starting chillies now to get a decent harvest this year, but if you have a warm house you might get good growth, or they will overwinter to give a brilliant crop next year.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
Bit stiff this morning, having spent yesterday digging a bed for the brocolli. Thanks for the inspiration.
(Although unfortunately not finished yet because it's part of a "remodel" and I hit a few snags...) They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
