Is there a reason you didnt read the important information before you booked, as far as i can see why are you cross with Thomas Cook they told you it was 29in so why are you annoyed its not like you werent forewarned, im sorry but you've only got yourself to blame.

TO be fair to the OP it is a bit misleading for TC to state that all long haul legroom is 33" (according to OP's second post) then put a disclaimer in a seperate part of the website.
  • I understand your point totally and I have learnt my lesson for future. The link was so small I literally didn't see it and it was on a page that I just thought was like a recap of the holiday details. I can understand why they will not agree to cancel the booking I just think that if they are going to give you a less than standard flight it should be clearly stated, which no one can really argue that this is.
I am obviously frustrated with myself about it but really have learnt my lesson. (Don't go with Thomas Cook ;) )

thought that would be the case first choice (now thomson) are actually really good for a charter better service/leg room than virgin and put thomas cooks rubbish offering to shame.
  • Just a quick note:

After looking about a bit and reading the Virgin terms and conditions have found out that all holidays booked online are subject to a 7 day cooling off period. Rang Thomas Cook to inform them of this and they have upgraded our flights to the earlier standard flight and premium economy on the way back with no amendment fees. Result.

Anyway, thanks for all of your help on this!!

What have Virgin got to do with it?

All holidays booked online are definitely not subject to a cooling off period, although some agents/ operators will offer this at their discretion.
    Gone ... or have I?

Zolablue, all long haul flights are 33in as standard, but sometimes things happen beyond their control and planes have to be changed this happened to us when we came home from the Dom rep sometimes its just one of those things, as for the disclaimer it did say essential information (or important) which would imply it does need reading.

smackdowngunny thats excellent news about the upgrade no extra charge well done for getting it, the reason its only 1 way is cause they dont do premium on the outbound flight and the return is normally £50 each, enjoy.
