Yup, me too. It pops into my head all the time.saubryn wrote:Have you tried setting up a spreadsheet or a little chart to help you work out how long it will take to pay things off if you didn't do anything different, and then another one for if you overpay / put mystery shopping towards it / sell stuff, etc?
It helps me to think about it in that way - if I know I'm doing better than I could be it helps me relax.
I do this but it just gives me something else to obsess over. I spend loads of time playing with snowball calculators or adding and re-adding figures in my little financial notebook. It's not a nice characteristic that I have but i just can't help it.0 -
I don't worry about it and it isn't on my mind much. I just make sure I do 1 positive thing each day to help me towards my goal be it the spread sheet, signing up for this that or t'other or merely reviewing progress so far.
It will get better Misscutiepie.0 -

i have the exact same problem, tho i have to admit it's not just debt that gets to me. my brain will just never stop, there is always something going on in it! one thing i do if it stops me sleeping is to do my yoga breathing in bed, all that stuff about shutting down your body etc does help most times. others i find only thing that helps is to get blindin drunk and pass out, tho i don't recommend that option.0

Is there anyone out there like me???? i seem to think about everything in too much detail and if something bothers me it keeps going round and round in my head until it is solved so im getting rather frustated today!!! first day off in ages and just wanted to chill
its called 'being a woman' it is in our nature to go round and round problems until they are solved. Men just go into their caves - read Men from Mars Women From Venus for more insight into the way we deal with stuff - its quite intesting and very true - money saving tip - read it in the shop or get it from the library.0 -
I can relate to this! It must be normal.
When another letter has been sent off,or another problem solved for now-I feel relieved....and then think "OMG! but what about this/that/the other?"
Walking my dog always stops my brain churning over for a while and I went out for the 1st time in ages with my best mate and had a good catch up-and most of the drinks were on her!(hic!)...which also stopped the fretting.
I just have to deal with the banging headaches and feeling 'unplugged' all the time now!Fabi x0 -
you will relax in time, I promise.
And a lot of the "moneysaving" things you may start to do now wont seem such a big deal, they will become routine. When I get overstressed I do things like
pigsback clicks
click throughs on quidco
apply for some freebies
read the vouchers threads (You will collect vouchers almost subconsciously! )
The worry, panic stress, that people have at the beginning will subside, the wolves will go from the door once tings are sorted on an even keel, and you can amble along at a different pace. Honest x:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I know what you mean, misscutiepie. I had a DFW nightmare last night that I'd added up what I still owed and realised that I'd hardly paid anything off my debt! I was absolutely mortified. Talk about me needing to get a life!0
