LOL my local supermarket are selling Next Gift Cards.
So is the supermarket re-selling them or not?
To find out the answer I looked up the legal definition of re-sale.
If A sells a cow to B then the legal definition of re-sale I found is when A sells the same cow to another person C also.
Obviously it is wrong to sell the same cow to two people.
Now I am confused.
Maybe some related info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ticket_resale#Legal_responses and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gift_voucher#Gift_certificates0 -
Gift Cards make 11% profit for a company!!!!!!
I've worked in retail for a total of 7 years and every company tries to push you to sell more as they make so much profit on them. They know that some will be lost or remainders will go unspent which = pure profit for a company.
It's awful but where I worked we were even given incentives to sell gift cards over products.
I'd avoid them and give cash, or an Amazon voucher, at least with Amazon they sell everything and are competitively priced

Scandalous behaviour by Next. It really brings home Martin's view that this site is all about trying to screw these companies before they screw us. There will do whatever it takes to get their hands on our money - fairness or fairplay doesn't even come into it. These companies know many of their gift cards are never spent so they are incredibly profitable and will continue to be so if they can stop them being sold on. I think there is a good chance that these terms could be found to be unreasonable and unenforceable if anyone ever took the issue to court but Next probably know no one is likely to do that for a £10 gift token. I will never buy another gift token from any company. They allow companies to rip customers off and they are probably not even the best of presents. Perhaps more publicity is needed about this issue as happened with extended warranties which reduced the number of people buying them and brought about changes to how they are sold. Maybe another campaign Martin needs to bring up if he hasn't already done so.0

I'm not sure that's actually Martin's view..
but I agree with the second part.0
