Private sellers who should be business sellers any thoughts?

Earlier today I posted on another thread about a problem on ebay at the moment private sellers running dubious businesses on ebay which is also very harmful to ebays image and also our profits and most of them like this seller http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/99paudio/ I found earlier who use high postage and low starting price auctions to avoid fees.
I was very surprised just how quickly I found a seller like this to link to to prove my point and by the fact that even though they have been reported by me earlier to ebay they still have not been stopped.
Do any other members have any veiws about this or any other dubious private sellers that should be business sellers they would like to share with us?

I'm not sure what eBay do either but the best way to do it is to report them to their local trading standards office. eBay don't enforce the law, they can only chivvy people into registering as a business, but TS can.

When you report a seller like this who by a quick look at their profile have been evading fees for a while you would think ebay would at least remove their listings until they become a business seller or explain their actions.
I am also sure crowqueen will fill the details in on this or correct me if I am wrong but to hide the fact you are a business from a customer is illegal under the trading standards laws.

    Yes, it is.

From some of the threads on the Community boards it's apparent they do do this, but not just on the say-so of someone else (who could be a competitor), they have to notice it themselves.

I do actually agree with the frustration - maybe the way to do it is report it on a buying ID so any possibility of it being taken for a malicious report is eliminated.

Hi crowqueen I did use my buying account to report them which never sells anything and apart from a few dvds that I want rid of when I am having a clearout I don't really sell dvds on ebay they are not my line of business on ebay so I don't think that would matter.
I also noticed that the sellers dvds did look like they were copied at home and the hairdressing ones may even be counterfeit which I did not think was allowed on ebay.
This is why I mentioned in my first post that it was a dubious business they were running on ebay.

Yes I see your point mobile48 they both look fake and the second one is from the seller I linked to in my first post or may be they are the same seller.

Possible they are not the same seller and the items may not be fake. There is someone on the Internet giving advise on starting a home business selling info products like these.

I cannot comment on the seller in this thread. But from experience of people I know it is not unknown for someone to pay a lot of money for a home business opportunity and get bad training and not make money.

If they are not the same seller then why would the name at the bottom of the listing be the same Julie-Ann unless one seller has just copied and pasted another sellers listing including their name.
I also like this bit on the business sellers listing
please contact me via ebay for authorisation before returning items..thanks.

Thanks I missed the fact they both used the same name.

The person on the Internet giving advise is called Julian not Julie-Ann.

personally i don't have time to worry about little things like this, i leave it to ebay and just get on with running my business while letting ebay run theirs.

i don't think it so much impacts on ebay's reputation as it does the seller themselves as personally if i click on an item and it is clearly a business seller but they are not registered as a business seller it puts me off, purely because it gives the impression of a cowboy, flyby night outfit who may go NLR at any moment.

as a TRS i'll be waiting to snap up the customers they are putting off buying from them with their del boy ways.
