Hi everyone
does anyone have any ideas? I have no credit history so littlewoods is really my only option
This does sound like really bad timing, and I hope that things get sorted out quickly so you can enjoy your big day. I would definitely post this on the Wedding board so you can get some ideas. I think you may get more positive suggestions there with less discussion as to how you came to be in this situation. You can't be the first person to experience a sudden drop in income with deposits paid, promises made and favours owing! Especially with something like a wedding which is often planned so far in advance.
I mainly replied to suggest that if you're looking at littlewoods as a solution to try it very quickly. You mentioned that you have no credit history and littlewoods may not necessarily accept you for a credit account. In my experience the mail-order catalogues can take longer to send the first order when you're applying for a credit account.
Best of luck.

I can't believe that you're thinking of cancelling the wedding over financial issues, I thought the point of a wedding was that you wanted to be with the person forever and not just have a big party with lavish suits and a posh meal out on you that you can't afford? For my sisters hen night we took her out she never bought a drink the whole night, why do you feel obliged to spend money you don't have?0

well for a start you can pay cheaper for the wedding ring and your shoes and your underwear, theres money saved
nails dont need to be done or do them yourself
dont need a stag/hen party
maid of honour can pay for her own dress and shoes (or at least part of it)0 -
Suits, shoes, underwear etc at Primani or Matalan. if you dont try them you will never know.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

i have been with my partner nearly 20 years, never been married and have 3 kids a house and pets etc.
i understand the importance of marriage but to be honest life is expensive and the money always went on something else.
i don;t think in all the time i have known him he has ever spent $300 on a present for me.
i have picked the wrong bloke. if we wanted to be bothered we would have probably run off to registry office. but the cost is not really necessary it is being with the person that is important and if you need a wedding it can be done cheaper as people have said.
tax credits etc as you said are for low income. surely if you are low income you cannot afford that level of expense i would not be able to and never have for such unnecessary items lots of undies in january sales i go myself every year. got a bag full for $20. i am sure you look the smae to your partner.0
