They shouldn't report it on the news etc. Just get the mods to remove it. Don't feed the troll and all that.
That website seems very up-to-date with the flooding in the area you're concerned about BTW.0 -

Cheers Gen. It looks like flooding in that part of Qld will peak lunch on 12th and then ease off by weekend, which is good news.
Not so good for Brisbane though, have just seen breaking news that 20,000 homes could be hit in that city alone. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Brisbane is on a big plain so while there'll be plenty of damage, people should be fine which is the main thing.

In Summer:eek:, that's just weird. Good news re flood plain. I've never been to Brisbane as I fly up to my family from Sydney or Melbourne, so can't picture the topography. Shallow flooding good. Especially if they still have Queenslanders there too. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Maryborough is cut off again today and the waters have been higher than expected. The water levels are expecting to fall again soon and hopefully the clear-up can begin after that. A problem will be that kids are swimming in the flood waters. The flood waters are full of snakes and sewerage, not the best things to be swimming with!
I liked one quote I came across, "They say the water was 21m today. Well I guess our house is at 22m as it was just below it".
Brisbane CBD will be a mess after this. People have had a lot of warning though so it should be property damage for the most part. The papers are using a lot of emotive language (eg people 'fleeing' the CBD) but from what I saw and heard from the rellies people are just getting on with it in Brisbane at least.0 -
Thanks again for all your feedback Gen. My aunt in this country has spoken to uncle today. He is above the level of the flood (as expected) but there is no milk or bread in shops and store owners say they don't know how they will replenish all food stocks (running out fast) as all supply routes cut. He has a private meals on wheels delivery once a week and we're hoping the river levels will drop a bit to allow for delivery. If not, I'm hopeful that the Qld government will do food drops so that he has some basics in. Obviously he has some other food in house so isn't going to go hungry any time soon, its all down to the roads reopening.
Oh, and that Facebook page and its links have been a godsend. Hm, I didn't see this thread yesterday when I stopped by. Interesting. The news seems to say that the flood has reached its peak, I hope so.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”
