Have a crash now and then lets build a real economy.

The problem here is a simple one: supply and demand. In the 1970s the number of people who lived in council homes was much higher than now, I think 65% or similar. Now it's closer to 20%. Thatcher's housing revolution is what kicked off the house price boom, as well as easier mortgages, higher disposable incomes and increasing demand from immigrants. All these factors have helped to push up house prices.
I don't believe there will be a crash - what you need for a crash is a major increase in unemployment, and that hasn't happened. An economic downturn will slow growth, but not cause a crash. As I said in another thread, high house prices are the norm in most European countries, not just the UK, so we'll just need to adjust to that.0 -

Doesn't matter anyway, don't give a sh*t. Believe what you want, I know I only post under this name, and I don't need nor want a thanking sockie.
That's strange, this post that I memorised from the deleted thread suggests otherwise:Mr._Pricklepants wrote:Well, I suppose given that I have made all of these accusations it is only right that I admit the fact that I am the handler of the MrRee account. I don't really know why I did it, I guess I was just bored and enjoyed the attention.*
Please do make your mind up.
