I normally wait 4 to 5 days then send them a generic reminder confirming thay have won and to forward payment on. After that I wait another 3 or 4 days and then email them and say you are going to be away from home for some period of time, so unless you receive payment within the next 2 days their parcel will not be sent until you return... this normally gets the people who are lazy to pay quickly.
Then if still nothing within these two days then I tell them unless they reply I will file a NPB report. I only had one that I needed to go that far with.
Unless a genuine reason is given people who take longer than 7 days to reply to an email I block. There is little excuse as it only takes seconds to clik on reply and say something.

I should take more notice of my own advice, my buyer has been active over the last week! Am beginning to get a bit peed off with him, but having looked at some of the things he's bought to do with the occult etc, perhaps I won't get pushy just yet!!

Why don't people communicate? It's so frustrating, especially when I make the effort to keep buyers (and sellers) informed of dispatch, receipt of payment and then goods. I'll give my buyer until after the weekend, and then send another reminder, that will have given him 10 days from auction end to contact me and arrange payment

Did you get your money? I'm still waiting and that's 12 days after auction end, having sent 1 extremely polite reminder last week, another one will be going out tomorrow.

I feel I could be joining BargainBabe, and start leaving negatives, some buyers just take the pee.

Fuzzy, i wouldn't bother emailing him anymore. I would start a NPB alert.
I don't leave negs on a whim, only when i reach stalemate or the seller/buyer becomes totally unhelpful/unresponsive. Before now, i've always avoided leaving negs to avoid retalitory negs in return, but someone said something the other day that made me think. Sellers that leave retalitory feedback are a bad advertisement for themselves and shows how unprofessional/unhelpful they are. Also, what about future buyers/sellers. I think they have a right to know what they may be letting themselves in for. JMHO though.

I agree it is better to leave a negative if a negative is deserved as it lets other buyers know what the person is really like.
As for non payers I have had to state on my listing the item MUST be paid in 7 days ( to be honest if they contact me in 7 days thats fair enough). After that I file a non bidder and that usually jumps starts them!
Dont be soft on them , after all you should actually really pay for the item when you win it -its not credit. When you bid on it you are saying your buying it. Its like going into Currys going up to the checkout with your new DVD player and saying " hey I will come back next week maybe and pay for this, and dont you dare sell it !"

I haven't got any money yet :( I started the NPB thing, but that has to wait 10 days and so hasn't finished yet.

    I'm confused now!

I've reported an unpaid item dispute, and the buyer hasn't responded yet. In the Ebay help section, it says
The seller can close the dispute after the buyer has responded at least once, or if the buyer does not respond within 7 days.

So does that mean if I close the dispute after 7 days I get my fees credited automatically, or do I then have to do something else? And can you close it as soon as the 7 days are up, or is it best to wait a bit longer?

    It's all finished now :D

They left me a neutral saying their daughter used their account and they didn't know. So I negged them saying "non paying bidder". And now they have -1 feedback! :D

    Oh!.....LOL
  • I often find that buyers who are paying by cheque will just post the cheque to you without going through ebay checkout and without emailing to tell you that they have sent a cheque. It may well be that a cheque is on its way.

I do send polite reminders though after two days and five days if no responmse to the first reminder, then after seven, if I have had no response at all, I file a NPB claim with eBay. The way I see it, if the buyer has sent me a cheque and doesn't let me know after an invoice and two reminders, then it is reasonable for me to treat them as a NPB. Good communication is really important for both buyer and seller.

If the cheque is going to take more than 7 days t reach me then they buyer needs to let me know that in advance. It's not a problem if that is the case. I have one at the moment who I have given 2 weeks to pay because they are away from home - no problem because they let me know this early on.

So, send the polite reminder and see what response you get.
